Support clinical research under PI and coordinator supervision by screening and interviewing patients, maintaining study records, entering and analyzing data, performing basic clinical procedures (EKGs, vitals, blood processing/shipping), assisting with protocol adherence and development, and coordinating study activities and literature review.

Provides coordinated inpatient case management and discharge planning, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care and transition plans, ensure regulatory compliance, reduce readmissions, and optimize resource utilization. Conducts daily rounds, documents dispositions, builds post-hospital referrals, and participates in quality improvement and staff orientation.

Schedules and registers outpatients using electronic scheduling and billing systems; completes pre-registration, insurance verification, co-pay collection, and appointment reminders. Provides culturally appropriate bilingual assistance for limited-English-proficiency patients, coordinates interpreter services, obtains medical records and authorizations, enters diagnosis/billing codes, resolves billing issues, and prepares scheduling and billing reports.

Perform outpatient administrative duties including patient registration and pre-registration, appointment scheduling, verification of insurance/authorizations, entering diagnosis/procedure codes into online billing, collecting copayments, answering phones, coordinating records and follow-up, and producing system reports to support clinic visits.

Assist principal investigators and clinical research coordinators by recruiting and interviewing patients, obtaining consent, collecting and entering study data, performing basic clinical tasks (EKGs, vitals, blood processing/shipment), and supporting quantitative and qualitative data analyses and protocol development.

Manages and coordinates departmental research administration including pre- and post-award support, budgeting, personnel and space planning, compliance (IRB/IACUC), grant proposal review, sponsor rules interpretation, effort reporting, and liaison work between faculty, department leadership, and the Office of Research Administration. Leads special projects and may supervise administrative staff.

Operates PACS and high-speed fluoroscopic imaging equipment in the OR, prepares and operates power injectors, positions patients, follows surgeon protocols, ensures image linking to LifeChart, practices radiation safety (ALARA), maintains supplies/equipment, assists nursing, documents procedures, and trains new staff.

Operates advanced OR radiography and PACS equipment, prepares and images patients for endovascular angiographic procedures, supervises technologists and students, manages scheduling, supplies, equipment maintenance, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Support perioperative team by coordinating, preparing, cleaning, and maintaining specialty surgical equipment (robotics, imaging, lasers). Perform pre-case safety checks, assist with setup/turnover, track repairs with Biomedical Engineering, maintain logs, follow sterilization and safety protocols, and provide basic patient-related support as needed.

Serve as a trusted HR advisor to assigned hospital client groups, providing guidance on talent management, labor relations, employee investigations, policy interpretation, metrics-driven HR strategy, manager coaching, and cross-functional HR initiatives to improve morale, productivity, and retention.

Lead system-wide Health Information Management and coding operations to ensure accurate, timely coding, regulatory compliance, EHR optimization, revenue cycle integration, staff development, audits, and performance measurement across multiple facilities.

Perform biomedical research under a Principal Investigator: design and conduct experiments, develop protocols, collect and analyze data using bioinformatic, phylogenetic and statistical methods, review literature, and write manuscripts, presentations and grants. Mentor trainees and collaborate with research teams to interpret results and advance molecular diagnostics research.

Support COBRE Community Advisory Board by coordinating meetings, communications, and trainings. Assist researchers with regulatory and administrative tasks, recruit and interview participants, collect data and biospecimens, maintain REDCap surveys, perform literature searches, assist with reporting and manuscript preparation, and manage documentation and minutes.

Perform research and resolution of unapplied cash and credits, develop methodologies and tools for cash application, reconcile unapplied cash accounts, contact payers/vendors for missing payment information, assist audits, train users on primary research protocols, and maintain procedure documentation.

Prepare and transport patients for radiology exams, set up rooms and sterile trays, assist technologists and radiologists, process imaging files, maintain MRI safety and CPR certification, manage patient flow and RIS/EMR/PACS tasks.

Performs retrospective audits of clinical documentation, coding and billing to ensure compliance with Brown University Health policies and federal/state regulations. Develops audit plans, creates workpapers, drafts findings and recommendations, provides compliance training, assists investigations, and mentors junior audit staff to improve revenue accuracy and regulatory adherence.

Review outpatient clinical documentation, assign ICD-10-CM/CPT/HCPCS codes using 3M 360 Finder, resolve coding edits (NCCI, NCD, OCE), monitor uncoded accounts, update billing systems, and meet productivity and accuracy standards.

Provide psychological assessment and psychotherapy to patients under general supervision of the clinical director. Evaluate and treat patients, participate in quality improvement/assurance initiatives, and, if appointed to faculty, teach and supervise trainees. Model organizational values in patient care and teamwork.

Provides coordinated nursing care for patients, conducts assessments, develops individualized care and discharge plans, administers medications and treatments, supervises and delegates to caregivers, initiates patient/family teaching, and participates in interdisciplinary collaboration and staff mentoring.

Provide direct personal care and basic nursing assistance under RN supervision in an acute care hospital. Perform ADLs, patient ambulation, safety checks, infection control, observe and report patient condition, document in EHR/flowsheets, assist in emergencies, and maintain a safe environment from admission to discharge.
