What you doYou will learn how to become a tax strategist, risk manager, and trusted business advisor, to be responsible in the future to navigating complex tax issues while supporting the Group's growth, governance, and transformation agenda. This role will combine deep on-the-job learning of technical tax expertise with leadership, stakeholder management, regulatory engagement, and strategic business partnering at an enterprise level.
You will be rotated across Singapore tax types to experience tax compliance, reporting and risk and disputes management. In addition, you will also participate in supporting business transactions, new product approvals, and technology and process transformations that impact the Group’s tax workflows.
Corporate income tax (CIT)
Prepare monthly tax provisions
Response to queries raised by external auditors during year-end audit
Prepare and submit corporate tax returns
Response to tax queries raised by the Tax Authority or other Government Agencies
Manage tax and other government incentives (when applicable)
Goods and services tax (GST)
Prepare and submit GST returns
Support testing of GST controls during GST audits and identify areas for improvement
Assist Business/Support Units in their GST related queries
Others
Review GST and withholding tax treatments on payments made to foreign suppliers
Improve tax operations’ processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
Support assigned Business/Support Units on tax matters
This role will report to the Singapore Tax Controller (Bank).
Who you are
Self-starter, independent and motivated to learn and solve issues, and is comfortable dealing with management and other business colleagues.
A strong communicator (both written and verbal), attentive to details with excellent analytical skills.
Degree in Accountancy and Law, and have proven work experience as a Tax Accountant or Tax Analyst (being in a in-house tax function before will be an advantage but not mandatory). Tax qualifications will be also be advantageous but not mandatory
Willing to learn and operate Oracle ERP and other ERP systems.
Proficiency in MS Office suite and new AI tools, with the ability to handle large information and datasets.
Resilient and resourceful, with an open mindset and a willingness to push beyond one’s comfort zone to embrace new challenges and broaden one’s learning.
