CUSTOMER OPERATIONS MANAGER
As a Customer Operations Manager, you play a critical role in overseeing the execution of business for our dedicated customers to ensure their needs are met. Responsible for managing a team of Account Managers and Customer Operations Representatives, you will drive service standards and ensure revenue and profitability targets are met for a portfolio of customers. This position will require that you find process improvements, maximize resources, and develop strong cross-functional relationships to drive efficiency and profitability.
Your role on the team:
- Oversees the management of the day-to-day operations of the specific account(s) assigned to your team and identifies opportunities to improve service and increase business
- Involvement with customer onboarding and regular customer interactions to ensure client expectations are met, and opportunities are identified to grow with the customer
- Analyzes reporting to visualize business results and drive timely decision making
- Works with the Director of Carrier Sales to ensure that all client shipments are proactively booked and tracked for on-time pickup or delivery
- Works with Pricing Manager to develop and execute bid board and RFP pricing strategies that maximize gross and net revenue outcomes
- Hires and trains team members effectively to ensure the team is optimally staffed and organized to maximize performance and achieve results
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy
What you need:
- Previous 3PL/freight brokerage experience required
- Previous employee management experience preferred, but not required
- Proven demonstration of commitment and work ethic in a school or work setting
- PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Access and Excel
- Must have a drive to succeed, confidence and superior verbal communication skills
- Committed to executional and outstanding customer service, and holding that accountability with your team
- Able to persuade, motivate, influence, and negotiate with others
- Develop process improvement strategies, ability to identify and remove inefficiencies and minimize repeated mistakes through corrective action and training plans
