The Commercial Development Manager leads a team that analyzes, negotiates, and implements opportunities that support approved strategies, and handles the negotiation and administration of oil, gas and NGL gathering, processing and transportation contracts. This role will seek new business/investment opportunities to generate profitable growth of our existing assets. The ability to handle sophisticated negotiations, collect and analyze market, industry, and competitive data while cultivating positive relationships with customers are keys to success!

Responsibilities/Expectations:

  • Identifies, coordinates and pursues opportunities to grow the business and improve profitability
  • Leads the negotiation and administration of oil, gas and NGL gathering, processing and transportation/fractionation contracts; seeks new business/investment opportunities to generate profitable growth of existing company assets
  • Creates and customizes sophisticated contracts/renewals; develops solutions that are mutually beneficial to Williams and our customer(s)
  • Understands all components of a deal structure
  • Evaluates risk/reward potential for all aspects of deal structure, including cost/rate of return in combination with other deal terms
  • Understands and communicates Williams' market perspectives to customers and has proactive regular interaction with customer leadership to build and nurture the relationship
  • Coordinates workforce planning and career development for direct employees
  • Experience negotiating production handling agreements and gas/oil gathering agreements for offshore facilities
  • Familiarity with Gulf Coast and offshore pipeline infrastructure
  • Solid understanding of natural gas processing economics
  • Knowledge of offshore lease sale process
  • Regulated and non-regulated offshore pipeline experience
  • Experience negotiating capital reimbursement and interconnect agreements
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Years of Experience:

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering; a minimum of twelve (12) + years’ experience in commercial
  • Preferred: Master's degree in business field

Shift/Work Hours/Travel Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 10-20% of the time as the need arises

Other Requirements:

  • Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills
  • Proficiency in economics, marketing practices and contracting
  • Understanding of the energy industry
  • Strong negotiation, leadership and people development skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement business strategy
  • Preferred: Previous supervisory experience
