Job Description
The Learning Support Specialist role for Technology is responsible for providing technical support to internal customers and external stakeholders on learning technology requirements and solutions and focusing on enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.
The incumbent is required to provide technical support for Learning Systems, Digital Platforms and Technology Solutions related queries and is individually accountable for achieving results through their efforts.
Key Responsibilities:

Engages with stakeholders to effectively identify and resolve learning technology issues.

Demonstrate the importance of collaboration by working closely with all stakeholders to support learning technology initiatives and requirements.

Plan and track the progress of learning technology deliverables for RMM on and against the technology landscape.

Support the change management plans for the implementation of technology initiatives.

Delivers relevant and insightful learning technology information through reporting.

Evaluate the impact of learning technologies by measuring and monitoring the feedback.
Operational
-
Managed, maintained and guided users of the digital platforms that support learning and other activities.

Troubleshoot and address any issues or queries related to the learning systems.

Liaise with OML Learning COE regarding Workday and other platforms to ensure it is optimised to be efficient and effective.

Research new and other technologies that will enable the optimisation of existing technologies e.g. Generative AI, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality.

Manage the relationships with key stakeholders that provide learning opportunities that support the Learning Strategy.
Risk management

Find opportunities to leverage other technologies that require testing and development.

Contribute to the learning technology governance and controls that support Change & Learning.

Prepare and provide the contractual agreements that support the identified learning technologies.

Implement and maintain standard operating procedures for learning technologies.
Requirements:
-
Relevant Business or HR or Learning tertiary qualification (NQF 5).
-
3+ years of experience in a learning support role with a focus on administrative and technical resolutions (ideal).
-
Knowledge of Learning technologies procedures and policies (ideal).
-
3+ years of experience using Workday.

Essential skills: communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, project management, tech-savviness, problem-solving, collaboration, technical and customer service.

Desirable skills: decision-making, analytical, and critical thinking.

ResponsibilitiesHR Data Analytics and Insights
Deliver analyses of HR data; identify trends and contribute to the creation of HR insights that enable the diagnosis of business issues, enhancement of employee engagement, and/or improvement of business performance.
Learning and Development (L&D) Program Design
Design and develop training courses or strands of a learning and development (L&D) program; incorporate specified L&D methodologies and delivery channels; develop relevant content and high-quality learning resources to ensure high levels of learner engagement and achievement of learning outcomes.
Learning and Development (L&D) Program Delivery
Deliver training sessions or short courses, engaging, advising, and guiding learners and evaluating the achievement of intended learning outcomes.
Learning Needs Analysis
Engage with team or department line managers to clarify short-term priorities for learning and development (L&D) interventions; gather relevant data on performance and current levels of competence; identify gaps in relation to required levels and obtain agreement on required outcomes.
Policy Development and Implementation
Work within established procedures to achieve specified goals.
Document Preparation
Organize and prepare complex documents using a variety of applications for technology devices, such as standard office software. Also responsible for gathering and summarizing data for special reports.
Information and Business Advice
Resolve queries from internal or external customers or suppliers by providing information on complex processes and the related policies, referring issues to others where necessary for interpretation of policy.
Development Center Design and Delivery
Contribute to the creation of development centers; tailor pre-existing exercises and feedback and development planning processes and tools; draft new content as directed; draft documentation; train assessors to engage assessees, facilitate activities, and support individuals in their development planning.
Personal Capability Building
Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
HR Data Management
Carry out complex HR data processing tasks; advise colleagues when needed and use expertise to help improve data collection tools and administration processes.
