JOB PURPOSE

The Membership Coordinator is a passionate leader who ensures that guests who come to church are managed, retained, and assimilated into Harvesters' culture and vision, while actively contributing to HICC's five strategic objectives:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Church Planting
  • Organize outreach plans to attract new members and identify visitor clusters and communities with potential to seed new cells, congregations, or campuses.
  • Work with the Membership Ministry Team and other ministries to develop membership development goals, objectives and processes for tracking, measuring and reporting results that support the church planting pipeline.
  • Recommend outreach locations and target communities for future campus or cell expansion based on visitor and attendance data trends.
2. Leadership Development
  • Respond to volunteer needs from church leaders and match volunteers with suitable positions.
  • Recruit and coordinate volunteers to create additional social opportunities that help build relationships with new converts.
  • Provide specific training for greeters to enhance the welcoming attitude of the congregation towards visitors and newcomers
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of members' decisions, partnering with them for growth.
  • Lead and build the capacity of welcome, assimilation and greeting teams, demonstrating strong people management and team leadership skills.
3. Health and Growth
  • Collect data on visitors and returning visitors for robust attendance tracking and database entry.
    Manage and maintain the database of new and existing church members, ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
  • Provide weekly updates to the Church, departmental team and Pastor on membership growth and attendance trends.
  • Follow up with members regularly, attend to their needs and address complaints and disputes.
  • Communicate regularly on progress towards membership development objectives and outcomes.
4. Reach and Transformation
  • Develop and implement strategies that help guests feel at home and develop a strong sense of belonging to Harvesters.
  • Serve as a conduit for individuals as they become new members, staying in touch until they participate in cells, small groups, teams or other church activities.
  • Develop and run orientation programs to welcome new members.
  • Support new members on an ongoing basis and answer questions about church life.
  • Educate members on the care system and ensure care and welfare is provided for members in need, including benevolence, business and career, counsel, and marriage and relationship needs.
  • Work with office staff and church volunteers to prepare welcome packets and membership class materials.
5. Finance
  • Meet the welfare and benevolence needs of members within the church's established financial processes.
  • Plan and manage resources allocated for welcome packets, outreach materials and membership events cost-effectively.
  • Ensure the church database and member records are maintained accurately to support reporting and budgeting for membership programs.





Requirements
Academic Qualification
  • Minimum qualification: First degree OR a diploma/certificate from a recognized Bible college.
  • Candidates combining a first degree with Bible college training are preferred but not required.
Work Experience
  • Minimum of 3–4 years' work experience, preferably in a similar pastoral or ministry environment.
Personal Skills
  • A committed born-again Christian with a personal and active relationship with God.
  • Sound understanding of Harvesters' doctrine, vision and five strategic objectives
  • Demonstrated skills in leadership, small-group facilitation, communication and organization.
  • Versatile and good communicator with a passion for people.
  • Ability to translate strategy into action.
  • Creative and innovative thinker.
  • Good administration and people management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.
  • Ability to lead and work with a team.
  • Proficiency in data processing.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency

Skills Required
