ZoomInfo is seeking an Organizing & Outreach Director to help build and maintain membership in the Business Information Coalitions (BIC). The BIC is an emerging collection of similarly-focused companies who have come together in their shared interest of ensuring that business contact information is treated fairly in state and federal privacy legislation. This person will also support and assist with ZoomInfo’s Government and Regulatory Affairs operations, including analyzing and reporting on relevant legislation and regulations.
Reporting to the Vice President of Government and Regulatory Affairs, this role is responsible for communicating with coalition members, organizing meeting agendas and materials, and conducting outreach to potential new members. Day-to-day responsibilities to include:
- Collaborating with ZI Government and Regulatory Affairs staff and lobbyists in a shared effort to monitor the status of legislation and regulations relevant to ZoomInfo’s business at the state, federal, and international levels.
- Coordinating coalition meetings; setting agenda; taking notes and ensuring follow-up on action items.
- Organizing action opportunities for coalition members, including opportunities for shared endorsements, joint testimony, group meetings and other engagements relevant to the goals of the coalition.
- Researching and preparing a target list of potential new coalition members.
- Engaging with new companies; explaining the focus of the BIC, value and membership requirements.
- Managing coalition assets, including legislative tracking service, and legislative tracking reports.
General Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Highly energetic self-starter capable of building consensus across a range of personalities and interests.
- Excellent communication, writing & presentation skills with the ability to distill detailed information into clear concepts for broad audiences.
- Political organizing or public policy background is a plus.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage-up, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Qualifications:
- BA / BS degree in political science or equivalent experience.
- 2-5 years working in a legislative, political campaign or policy role and/or experience working in a coalition or trade association context.
