The challenge
Your job: determine where marketing crosses legal boundaries—where a blog post becomes investment advice, where a promotional campaign requires financial promotion approval, and where offshore conduct of business rules conflict across multiple jurisdictions.
You'll conduct legal and regulatory research to interpret how marketing regulations apply to Deriv's content globally. You assess when content triggers regulated activity requirements, advise on cross-border solicitation rules, and provide legal guidance when marketing teams want to promote products where regulatory frameworks haven't caught up to innovation. You make calls on complex legal questions: Is this financial promotion? Does this require licensing? Can we say this in jurisdiction X but not Y?
This isn't content review. It's legal interpretation of marketing boundaries where regulatory frameworks are ambiguous and where getting it wrong creates licensing exposure.
AI can flag potential issues. Only you can interpret how laws apply to our specific content, navigate conduct of business rules across offshore jurisdictions with different stringency levels, and make the call when marketing innovation moves faster than regulatory clarity allows.
Why This Matters
Deriv operates in 25+ jurisdictions serving millions of traders globally. Your legal interpretation of marketing regulations determines whether promotional activities comply with licensing restrictions, whether content passes regulatory scrutiny across markets, and whether marketing creates regulated activity exposure.
Your research and legal guidance enable marketing teams to promote products globally while navigating the boundary between permitted marketing and regulated financial promotion.
