Your new role
An exciting 6-month max-term contract opportunity has become available for an experienced Media Agency Review Senior Lead to lead one of AustralianSuper's most significant marketing initiatives.
Reporting to the Head of Marketing Services, you will be responsible for leading the end-to-end review, tender and appointment process for AustralianSuper's media agency partnership. Working at a senior level across Marketing, Procurement, Finance and Legal, you will drive a structured and transparent selection process that ensures AustralianSuper appoints a best-fit agency partner capable of delivering innovation, commercial value, strategic capability and strong governance.
In this role, you’ll:
- Lead the design and execution of AustralianSuper’s end-to-end media agency review and market engagement process.
- Define review objectives, governance frameworks, evaluation criteria and success measures.
- Assess the effectiveness of the current agency model and recommend future capabilities aligned to the Fund’s strategic priorities.
- Develop and manage the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, including tender documentation, evaluation frameworks and agency engagement.Act as the primary point of contact for participating agencies throughout the review process.
- Lead agency evaluation activities across strategic capability, media investment, innovation, governance, operating models and commercial value.
- Facilitate executive stakeholder workshops and evaluation forums to support informed decision-making.
- Develop business cases and evidence-based recommendations for executive approval.
- Partner with Procurement, Finance and Legal teams to evaluate commercial models, contracts and risk considerations.
- Support commercial negotiations and drive successful agency appointment outcomes.
- Lead governance forums, steering committees and stakeholder communications throughout the review program.
- Oversee agency transition planning and implementation to ensure business continuity and long-term success.
What you’ll need:
- Significant experience leading media agency reviews, agency appointments, strategic sourcing initiatives or complex procurement programs.
- Extensive experience within media, advertising, marketing services, consulting or related industries.
- Deep understanding of media planning, media buying, digital media, agency operating models and commercial structures.
- Proven capability leading large-scale, complex evaluation and selection processes involving multiple senior stakeholders.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience negotiating contracts, partnerships and remuneration models.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, including experience working with executive leaders.
- Experience preparing and presenting executive-level recommendations, business cases and strategic assessments.
- Strong governance, risk management and decision-making capabilities within complex and regulated environments.
- Highly developed strategic thinking, project leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Experience within superannuation, financial services or similarly regulated industries will be highly regarded.
