JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepare our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.
JOB SUMMARY - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Mechanical Tech II analyzes malfunctions and repairs, rebuilds, and maintains ground support equipment, parts, accessories, and systems.
Employee will be responsible to perform the following functions/duties:
- Operate equipment and troubleshoot malfunctions using electronic, digital, and hand tools in order to diagnose defects
- Dismantle and examine parts for damage or excessive wear
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled mechanical maintenance and repair to heavy equipment, parts, accessories, and systems, all mechanical and hydraulic components, bearings, and motors
- Repair, adjust, or replace defective engines and subassemblies
- Repair corrosion, weld broken parts and structural components, and apply paint and/or other protective coatings and finishes to equipment
- Reassemble equipment using hoists and hand tools
- Realign the equipment and re-torque to required specifications
- Test overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency
- Service equipment with fuel, oil, water, coolant, hydraulic fluid, refrigerant, and compressed air.
- Dispose of hazardous material and waste in accordance with all state, local, and federal environmental standards and regulations
- Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE
The incumbent must be a graduate from an accredited two-year technical mechanical institution or equivalent, or at least four (4) years of job-related experience.
In addition, a Mechanical Tech II must also possess the following qualifications:
- Must be capable of operating heavy equipment
- Must be able to qualify for and maintain a government security clearance
- Must have a valid, state issued driver's license.
- Must be able to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) - active CDL a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position involves work typical of an office environment with no unusual hazards. There is occasional lifting to 50 pounds and outdoor duties with exposure to natural weather. A government vehicle is used on an as-needed basis. Grease or oil may be found on working surfaces. The incumbent must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. He/she must be able to work duty days in excess of eight hours and perform shift and weekend work to meet required schedule demands. This position may require travel.
