The ideal candidate must have extensive experience managing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems in residential and commercial developments, ensuring delivery within scope, time, budget, and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Design, plan, and oversee mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection) for building construction projects from inception to completion.
- Ensure all mechanical works are executed in accordance with approved designs, specifications, budgets, and timelines.
- Coordinate with project engineers, site teams, architects, electrical engineers, and contractors for seamless integration of mechanical systems.
- Review and approve mechanical designs, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Monitor project progress, costs, and resource utilization to ensure efficiency and cost control.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure quality assurance and adherence to design specifications.
- Identify technical risks, resolve engineering challenges, and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare and submit technical reports, project updates, and documentation to management.
- Oversee testing, commissioning, and handover of mechanical systems.
- Ensure health & safety compliance across all mechanical installation activities on-site.
Requirements
Skills Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in mechanical engineering within building construction projects
- Strong experience in HVAC systems, plumbing, fire protection systems, and building services engineering
- Excellent understanding of construction methods, materials, and mechanical system integration
- Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar)
- Strong leadership, project coordination, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience in testing, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical systems is an added advantage
- Must be a local candidate with in-depth knowledge of the local construction environment
