Our client is seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in building construction projects. The role is responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing mechanical systems within construction projects, ensuring efficient integration with overall building operations. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience managing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems in residential and commercial developments, ensuring delivery within scope, time, budget, and quality standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, plan, and oversee mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection) for building construction projects from inception to completion.
  • Ensure all mechanical works are executed in accordance with approved designs, specifications, budgets, and timelines.
  • Coordinate with project engineers, site teams, architects, electrical engineers, and contractors for seamless integration of mechanical systems.
  • Review and approve mechanical designs, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Monitor project progress, costs, and resource utilization to ensure efficiency and cost control.
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure quality assurance and adherence to design specifications.
  • Identify technical risks, resolve engineering challenges, and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare and submit technical reports, project updates, and documentation to management.
  • Oversee testing, commissioning, and handover of mechanical systems.
  • Ensure health & safety compliance across all mechanical installation activities on-site.


Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in mechanical engineering within building construction projects.
  • Strong experience in HVAC systems, plumbing, fire protection systems, and building services engineering.
  • Excellent understanding of construction methods, materials, and mechanical system integration.
  • Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
  • Proficiency in relevant engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar).
  • Strong leadership, project coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in testing, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical systems is an added advantage.
  • Must be a local candidate with in-depth knowledge of the local construction environment.
