Purpose of the role
The candidate for this role will be responsible for carrying out lubrication activities on mechanical equipment and heavy machinery, ensuring appropriate lubrication practices are followed to support equipment reliability, prevent excessive wear, and maintain safe and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out routine lubrication of mechanical equipment and heavy machinery according to established lubrication schedules.
Inspect equipment and lubrication points to identify common lubrication-related defects, leaks, contamination, or abnormal conditions.
Apply the correct lubricants and ensure lubrication activities are performed according to equipment instructions and maintenance requirements.
Read and follow basic lubrication schedules, equipment instructions, and relevant maintenance procedures.
Monitor lubrication requirements and report equipment conditions or lubrication-related issues to the relevant maintenance personnel.
Maintain basic records of lubrication activities, equipment serviced, lubricants used, and identified defects.
Ensure lubrication tools, equipment, and materials are properly handled, stored, and maintained.
Maintain clean and organized work areas and prevent lubricant spills or contamination.
Follow workplace health and safety requirements during all lubrication and equipment servicing activities.
Perform any other duties related to lubrication and equipment servicing as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications & Experience
Secondary education or relevant technical training
Relevant training or experience in lubrication, mechanical maintenance, or heavy equipment servicing
Minimum of 1–2 years of relevant experience in a mining, quarrying, construction, manufacturing, or heavy-equipment environment
Basic understanding of mechanical equipment and lubrication systems
Ability to identify common lubrication-related equipment defects
Ability to read basic lubrication schedules and equipment instructions
Basic record-keeping and reporting skills
Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
