ReconCraft is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Clackamas, Oregon. This role is responsible for designing, analyzing, and developing mechanical systems and full 3D product models for both manned and unmanned marine vessels. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in mechanical system design, SolidWorks modeling, and production-focused engineering within a fast-paced fabrication environment.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Design and analyze mechanical systems for marine and transportation platforms
  • Develop detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks
  • Perform sizing calculations and system analysis (fuel, cooling, ventilation, hydraulics)
  • Create and manage bills of materials (BOMs) and support configuration control processes
  • Design foundations, cabling layouts, and equipment integration solutions
  • Collaborate with controls engineers and cross-functional teams
  • Produce detailed fabrication drawings supporting manufacturing processes
  • Design fixtures and support production tooling needs
  • Work with external partners and suppliers to integrate components into system designs
  • Modify existing designs, implement redline changes, and produce updated models and drawings

Essential Job Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Education and Certifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen 
  • Required Experience and Knowledge:
    • 5+ years of experience in mechanical system design
    • Expert-level proficiency with SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM
    • Experience developing and maintaining bills of materials and product configurations
    • Strong knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication processes (welding, CNC cutting, forming)
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environment
