As our Mechanical Engineer you will report to the Manager - R&D Equipment.

You will be aligned to the Poultry Division and located in Gainesville, GA.

Onsite role - Hybrid schedule 4 days in office/1 days from home.

On any given day you will,
  • Lead migration of CAD documents to Gainesville, GA
  • Coordinate with engineering team in India
  • Review drawings and provide feedback to leadership team
  • Become SME on transitioned product line over time
  • Create and update spare parts drawings for product line
  • Research and organize migrated engineering databases
  • Determine whether components should be manufactured internally or sourced externally
  • Design production-ready spare parts
  • Utilize SolidWorks to update drawings using SolidWorks
  • Support transitioned and legacy equipment using ProE
Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of relevant production technics, materials and components
  • Knowledge of the food processing industry requirements
  • Good understanding of mechanics and industrial automation
  • Understand the value of the reuse of others ideas, standardization and modularization
  • Strong communication skills; work with customers, vendors and co-workers in a courteous and tactful manner
  • Problem solver who works well under time constraints and with possible production setbacks
  • Enjoys learning and researching
  • Ability to solve problems in a multi-disciplinary way
  • Ability to deliver results on time
  • Ability and interest in working with people from a different cultural background
  • Is a team player; that enjoys working with people and deals well with feedback
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field or related work experience in mechanical design or CAD engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of SolidWorks experience required
  • Experience or knowledge of 3D design tools required
  • Food processing equipment experience preferred
  • Poultry industry experience preferred
  • Legacy equipment support experience preferred
  • Good time management skills aligned to meeting deadlines
  • Problem solver who works well within the team and around possible production setbacks
  • Manufacturing equipment design background preferred
