Job Description:
TITLE: Mechanical Engineer– Mass Properties Engineer III
EMPLOYER: Airbus Americas, Inc.
LOCATION: Mobile, AL
DUTIES: Performing the investigation and the solution of technical problems associated with
research, design, development, service, and manufacture of Airbus aircraft. Providing
technical assistance to engineering staff and contributing to completion of project
milestones. Following established schedules while developing plans for engineering
assignments. Obtaining appropriate level of supervisor approvals for work accuracy and
adequacy. Applying company policies and procedures. Improving daily processes, and
ensuring all work meets customer requirements. Maintaining a current and up-to-date
knowledge of developments and application of technical principles, theories, and
concepts in assigned field of expertise.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and
5 years in any job title involving experience in preparing Engineering Change
Incorporated requests (ECIN) for suppliers and maintaining the database through e-Room
and shared drive. Prior experience must also include: Working in coordination with
production leaders to gain acknowledgment and facilitate smooth engineering change
implementation (WAF); Developing and revising SAP Workbooks/Mod Notices,
encompassing Drawing’s revision changes/ Bill of Materials, Routing and Linkage
Changes; Keeping production floor and Quality updated with Restriction or Special
Instruction (RSI) issued by the change management; Working closely with multifunctional
team to ensure the designing and delivery of tool(s) required for production in a timely
manner, included fabrication, shop aids, and templates requested via MAXIMO to use on
a shop floor; Providing Andon support for pre-flight by resolving drawings, part number
queries using Illustrated Parts Catalogue (IPC), AMM, and CMM; and Raising Methods
change request (MCR’s) through GNET to fix anomalies in production processes.
