- Work effectively as a member of a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team consisting of biologists, chemists, mathematicians, statisticians, and engineers
- Collaborate with engineers and scientists to automate laboratory processes using commercial and custom hardware in support of government-funded efforts for novel applications
- Quickly adapt to evolving research needs, willingness to learn new techniques, and rapidly acquire new knowledge and stay informed on emerging technologies
- Candidates should follow sound engineering practices, maintain effective documentation of activities and analyses, and be able to effectively communicate findings and reasoning with other team members
- Enrolled in BS degree in a relevant area of study and working towards a degree in Engineering, or related field at an accredited college/university.
- U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
- Team-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact with people from diverse areas and disciplines
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, willing to learn, and interested in working in a team environment
- Great work ethic and an enthusiasm for problem-solving and innovative thinking and the ability to approach and solve technical challenges
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- One year of technical experience (technical experience obtained through schooling can be counted towards total years of experience)
- Experience using engineering software tools like CAD and SolidWorks
- Prior involvement in relevant design projects (through either coursework of extracurricular activities)
- Existing experience developing and testing materials for structural and functional applications
- Experience testing mechanical properties of materials
- Experience with computer modeling and simulation
- Possess US government Security Clearance

Pay Range:Pay Range $46,800.00 - $84,600.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
