Essential Duties & Responsibilities:     

  • Conduct fundamental and applied research to improve or generate new products, components, equipment, systems, tests, requirements, and processes.
  • Drive projects by maintaining focus across disciplines and functions on key design aspects, customer needs, system requirements, testing, product growth, and technological trends.
  • Apply deep knowledge across multiple engineering disciplines to lead product innovation and development.
  • Assemble and test prototypes, integrating mechanical and electrical components.
  • Interpret and create detailed mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Sustain and support designs across the entire product life cycle.
  • Communicate and collaborate clearly both verbally and in writing.

  • Proficiency in CAD tools (Siemens NX preferred or SolidWorks), Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with 3D printing technologies and rapid prototyping.
  • Hands-on experience assembling and troubleshooting electromechanical prototypes preferably sensors.
  • Hands-on experience in assembly, machining, soldering, and related fabrication techniques for electromechanical component development and testing.
  • Experience in testing electromechanical sensors and systems in automation and control systems programming (e.g., PLCs).
  • Experience with sensor design and integration is a strong plus.
  • Experience in designing water quality monitoring equipment or components is preferred.
  • Multi-disciplinary engineering expertise with a strong foundation in mechanical, electrical, and flow mechanics.
  • Be able and willing to work in a fast-paced, agile product development environment—wear multiple hats, be resourceful, and take initiative to get the job done with minimal supervision
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant industrial experience in product development, preferably in sensor and automation industries.
  • Experience with prototype development and CAD-based design required.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to sit.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Salary Range: $100,000/yr - $140,000/yr

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
