Mechanical Engineer
Responsibilities
- Support the company with the design of complex HVAC systems.
- Prepare 2 and 3-dimensional construction documents using Revit.
- Design automatic temperature control systems complete with control sequences, diagrams, and points lists.
- Prepare documents, calculations, and energy modeling studies for the LEED certification process.
- Coordinate design efforts working closely with our in-house disciplines, architectural clients, and building owners.
- Plan project production process.
- Perform contract administration duties of site visits, submittal review and contractor assistance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Possess a solid technical base with desire to learn, lead, and grow into one of the firm’s lead mechanical engineers and project management for building types including healthcare, higher education, science and technology, workplace, and many others.
- Prioritizes effectively, has good follow-through, and is a self-starter
- Demonstrates an understanding of HVAC system concepts.
- Demonstrates proficiency with Revit.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to communicate well in writing, as well as verbally.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- EIT or PE preferred
- Previous experience with Revit
- Three to Seven years (3-7)
- Experience in the HVAC consulting business including large air handling, chilled water, and hot water systems design

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

Relevant professional licensure or certification preferred (EIT, PE, CPD, FPE, RCDD, etc.).

4+ years of engineering experience in the AEC industry.

Proficient in Revit and discipline-specific software.

Strong grasp of building codes and design standards.

Capable of guiding junior staff and leading internal reviews.

Able to balance multiple priorities effectively.

Skilled in preparing reports, proposals, and client communications.

Comfortable representing the firm to clients for smaller projects.
No direct reports but may mentor junior engineers or interns.
Work EnvironmentOffice-based with regular site visits; must adhere to safety requirements.
Physical DemandsAbility to sit/stand for long periods, use standard office equipment, and occasionally lift/move up to 25 lbs. Site visits may involve ladders, uneven terrain, and varied weather.
