We are seeking a skilled Design Draftsman to prepare detailed 2D drawings, 3D models, and manufacturing documentation for mechanical products and assemblies. The candidate will work closely with the design, production, and procurement teams to develop accurate and production-ready engineering drawings using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Autodesk Fusion 360.
We are seeking a skilled Design Draftsman to prepare detailed 2D drawings, 3D models, and manufacturing documentation for mechanical products and assemblies. The candidate will work closely with the design, production, and procurement teams to develop accurate and production-ready engineering drawings using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Autodesk Fusion 360.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models for mechanical components and assemblies.
- Prepare manufacturing drawings with dimensions, tolerances, material specifications, and GD&T.
- Generate assembly drawings, exploded views, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Export DXF, DWG, PDF, STEP and other manufacturing-ready files for laser cutting, CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, and production activities.
- Modify and update drawings based on engineering change requests.
- Coordinate with design, production, and vendor teams to ensure manufacturability and accuracy.
- Maintain drawing revision control and proper engineering documentation.
- Support prototype development, assembly, and production processes.
- Assist in product development and continuous design improvements.
Requirements
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, or Autodesk Fusion 360.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and drafting standards.
- Knowledge of fabrication, machining, sheet metal, and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with GD&T, tolerances, and assembly practices.
- Ability to export and manage DXF/DWG files for manufacturing applications.
- Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in drafting work.
Qualifications - Diploma / BE / BTech in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 1+ years of experience in mechanical drafting or product design.
- Experience in industrial equipment, automation, robotics, AGVs, or machine design will be an added advantage.
Preferred Skills - Knowledge of weldments, structural design, and assembly integration.
- Familiarity with PDM/PLM systems.
- Experience working closely with manufacturing and production teams.
- Understanding of CNC, laser cutting, and fabrication workflows.
