Your role and responsibilities
As a Mechanical Engineer in Traction, you are responsible for the mechanical design of converters, energy storage systems and cooling units for railway and heavy on or off-road applications. The products are used worldwide in rail vehicles, e-buses and e-trucks or construction machines. To strengthen this motivated team, we are looking for a committed and experienced mechanical design engineer with interest in power electronics.
The work model for the role is: hybrid
This role is contributing to the Rail Systems Business Line in Untersiggenthal.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Mechanical engineering and design of complete converters and cooling units
Create, maintain, and manage product data within PLM systems (Product Lifecycle Management)
Plan and perform validation tests, particularly for cooling performance and structural strength
Support production during the introduction of new products and contribute to product maintenance and continuous improvement.
Create technical specifications and clarify technical requirements with suppliers and customers
Support the sales organization during the concept development and quotation phase
You will join a dynamic and high performing team, where you will be able to thrive.
Qualifications for the role:
Trained and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with further technical school (TS), or bachelor’s /master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
Experience with CAD and ERP systems, ideally Creo and PTC Windchill
Solid English skills, German is preferred
Open, collaborative team player with a hands-on and approachable working style

Preferably experienced in the design of power electronic equipment for rolling stock, automotive, or other vehicle applications
