Key Responsibilities: 

  • Sheet metal design; Placement of electrical components (Packaging); Cooling systems; Design for a cleanroom environment
  • Hands on experience in routing in cable and hardness.
  • Problem identification and troubleshooting a variety of difficult mechanical problems w.r.t AC Racks/ System Racks, Electronic Racks with limited supervision
  • Define, coordinate, perform, and document engineering test reports with limited supervision
  • Develop, design, or modify mechanical engineering layouts/schematics and/or detailed drawings/specifications of difficult scope
  • Lead the mechanical design of AC power distribution units
  • Create detailed drawings, define fabrication processes, materials, and finish standards with comprehensive GD&T, and perform complex tolerance analyses.
  • Plan and execute experiments to validate designs.
  • Perform engineering analysis under general supervision
  • Perform and document engineering tests under general supervision

  

Functional Knowledge

  • Demonstrates expanded conceptual knowledge in own discipline and broadens capabilities
  • Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines
  • Experience in CAD software; experience with INVENTOR
  • Understanding of CAE software for structural, and thermal analysis.
  • Familiarity with relevant UL and NEMA safety standards.
  • Expertise in GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with fast-paced projects requiring innovative thinking.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering with 7 - 10 years of proven experience in designing mechanical components for electrical systems, particularly Control panels

  • No supervisory responsibilities but provides informal guidance to new team members
