Join the Redwire Space team in developing and fielding end-to-end innovative mission critical space system solutions for next generation space architecture. At Redwire, you will work closely with customers from concept development through mission operations to ensure mission success.
Role
1.The successful engineer will be responsible for the mechanical design of scientific instruments and satellites on a project level.
2.Starting from requirements, you create, together with a team of specialists, the mechanical parts on a detailed conceptual and detailed level.
3.Your designs will be completed for a multidisciplinary system perspective.
Experience
1.Conduct research on design components, such as tolerance study, structural analysis or hand calculations.
2.Solid understanding of a material's properties, surface treatments.
3.Knowledge of the different manufacturing processes: machining, sheet metal, 3d printing, welding.
4.The ability to come up with new ideas can be a valuable skill for a mechanical designer on an engineering team or brainstorm sessions.
5.Ability to meet specific design criteria, like form, fit, safety, reliability, and cost.
6.Has problem solver capabilities and the ability to anticipate potential consequences.
7.Good communications skills are essential as member of an engineering team that works together to achieve their goals
8.Can use highly specialized software (Creo parametric) to create 3D models and 2D drawings
Profile
1. 5 years’ experience within a Technical Mechanical Design background ideally within a manufacturing environment.
2. Master’s degree, preferably in product development, mechanical engineering, electro-mechanical engineering or similar by experience
3. You have a practical knowledge of mechanisms, materials, coatings and manufacturing techniques
4. You can support your designs with basic functional, structural, and thermal analysis.
5. Self-motivated attitude and the ability to use initiative
6. You are able to generate documents and communicate in English.
7. Knowledge of Dutch is an asset.

Skills Required
