Designs and develops repairs, modifications, and improvements for aerospace engine and APU components. Supports manufacturing needs, repair process improvements, technical documentation, engineering projects, and 3D CAD modeling. The role also contributes to Factory of the Future initiatives involving automation, digitization, and AI. This is a fully onsite position in Phoenix, Arizona, supporting a regulated and safety-critical aerospace environment.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer II here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will be part of a team that applies its expertise and knowledge to technical projects, finding innovative, cost-effective means to improve products, techniques, procedures, and technologies. You will provide engineering support to the largest Honeywell repair and overhaul facility globally, design and develop new ideas and solutions for current products repairs, modifications, and improvements based on in-service issues and market strategy. Position will be responsible for supporting shop manufacturing needs, create repair documents, support repair process improvements, lead and support engineering improvement projects, and 3D modeling and CAD design.  Products supporting will include PSH APU and engine components.  Define and support Factory of the Future projects utilizing automation, digitization, and AI.

You will report directly to our Senior Engineering Manager and you’ll primarily work out of our Phoenix, AZ location in a fully onsite position.

Responsibilities

· Lead and support engineering improvement projects (TAT, HPU, margins, FPY)
· Support shop manufacturing needs
· Create and modify repair documents

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
· 1 or more years of professional engineering experience
