The team is determined to enter the Public Services domain in Europe with our market leading portfolio of products ranging from Device Clients, RAN, Core and MCPTX Application Services.
The MCX Engineers sit across the Test and Delivery teams under the leadership of the respective Test and Service Delivery Managers and play a key role in SNEs mission as the team who lead the testing, performance and availabilty of our products, meeting customer expectations, contractual milestones and SLAs.

Role and Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities
You will be a technical expert in IMS (ideally MCX also) with an analytical approach to troubleshooting, RCA investigation and e2e testing.
Providing solution expertise and guidance for the MCX Client and MCX Application Test Strategy and Test Plans for all network elements and sw releases.
Execution of Functional, Performance, Accessibility and Compatibility test plans.
Perform accurate tracking of test progress within defined project timeline objectives.
Validation of all supporting test cases, upgrade procedures, trouble-shooter guides and product documentation to facilitate consistent test execution.
Perform deep dive analytics and fault investigations of feature and performance test cases to provide resolutions within SLAs
Provide continuous feedback and recommendations on training and development plans for self and other test engineers.
Execute Samsung MCX Client port and verification testing to gather all R&D inputs for client development to meet Sandbox exit criteria.
Creation and recording of test execution progress reports and performance logs.
Lifecycle management of trouble tickets to successful resolution, ensuring all information for R&D investigation is provided and recommendations implemented.
Technical support for all Sandbox testing providing analysis, feedback or logs to 3rd parties for their solution development or integration.
What we need for this role
To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:
A comprehensive background knowledge in 4G/5G Core technologies, in particular Voice/Video and Data services to users and applications.
Extensive expertise of MCX Client applications and SDK solutions running on Android (GMS, Non-GMS and Android Go), iOS, Linux and Windows OS.
Extensive knowledge of LTE (MCPTT QCIs a plus) testing tools: Wireshark tracing and system log analysis of SIP, RTP, RTCP, Diameter interactions, Load testing tools (IXIA, Viavi, Spirent), XCAL,XCAP,QXDM, Jira, HPQC, Logcat/Putty.
SW lifecycle testing for VNF architecture deployments on VMware
Testing of client sw deployment methods via OTA and EMM.
Expertise in e2e troubleshooting for LTE and TETRA networks and call flows.
In depth knowledge of 3GPP specifications and Mission Critical features.
Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills with written and spoken English.
Ability to maintain high standards or work and remain adaptable to changes in a dynamic working environment.
You have an Engineering degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecoms or a related field.
Awareness of GCF and other testing standards for client certification.
Willing to support an on-call rota as required.
Ability to work for extended periods at customer locations to support project activities

Highly motivated and self driven to be an effective member of a small team of test experts.
Ability to execute complex test activities to defined project and test plan milestones.
Collaborate with PMO functions to deliver timely updates on project achievements and ensure any risks are categorised and resolved in the appropriate reports.
Develop strong and effective working relationship with customers and partners.
Be the SME for in-depth technical investigation across E2E architectures for both LTE and TETRA networks.
Willing to support an on-call rota as required.
Ability to work for extended periods at customer locations to support project activities
The interview process
Following the screening of candidate CVs there will be a 2 stage recruitment process covering technical and suitability topics
The technical interview will involve candidates demonstrating their in-depth knowledge of Device client and Core network testing. Walkthroughs of previous projects to showcase candidate’s expertise in executing mission critical test plans and methodologies. Explanations of relevant test techniques and tools for different interfaces and protocols.
The suitability interview will be a wider review at the candidate’s suitability and availability to accept the role if offered and their motivation to join Samsung. It will cover topics such as: willingness to be UK SC cleared, understanding of the role, flexibility to work at various project or customer locations and cultural “fit” into leading and being part of small highly motived teams.
