Role Summary:
The Logistics Assistant will oversee and coordinate all customs-related activities across our Port Agency, Offshore, Liner, and SCS business streams. In this role, you will be responsible for promoting efficient customs operations, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and supporting the smooth delivery of services. When customs clearance activities are not required, you will also assist with coordinating and performing crew changes to support operational requirements.

Location: Mauritius, Port Louis (On-Site)
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate the end-to-end customs clearance process for Port Agency and Cargo operations, ensuring timely and compliant delivery.
- Liaise with government authorities, including the Ministry of Health (MOH), Ministry of Commerce (MOC), and Ministry of Agriculture (MOA), to obtain import, export, and landing permits.
- Monitor and renew customs-related licences, permits, and bank guarantees to maintain compliance.
- Keep the business informed of changes to customs legislation and regulations in Mauritius, ensuring processes remain compliant.
- Prepare estimates and provide customs-related operational support where required.
- Perform crew changes and provide operational assistance during periods of reduced customs clearance activity.
- Ensure compliance with ISS Global Quality Management System (QMS) procedures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Contribute to the achievement of Local Quality Objectives (LQOs), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and overall operational excellence.
- Promote ISS services and identify opportunities to support business growth and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure the effective use of all ISS systems and operational processes.
- Undertake additional duties, within the scope of the role, as required by the Line Manager to support business operations.
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Know the statutory documentary requirements and procedures to clear consignment to and from Mauritius.
- Conversant with Inco Terms, HS Codes, MACCS & MNS.
- Strong administrative, communication and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English & French).
- Proficiency in MS Office and internal computer systems.
- Valid driving licence.

Skills Required
