The Material Handling Coordinator III performs advanced material handling, shipping/receiving, and inventory control functions with limited supervision. This role supports efficient warehouse operations by coordinating complex material movement, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring compliance with company procedures. The position serves as a subject matter resource for less experienced staff and may provide training and workflow guidance.
This position works full time on the 2nd Shift at our office in Durham, NC.
Responsibilities:
Perform advanced receiving activities, including shipment inspection, documentation verification, transaction processing, and coordination of discrepancy resolution through established channels.
Coordinate material staging, movement, and delivery across storage, production, laboratory, and shipping areas using authorized equipment.
Prepare and process domestic and international outbound shipments, ensuring accurate packaging, labeling, documentation, and system transactions.
Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, stock reconciliations, inventory research, and timely transaction entry.
Serve as a point of contact for routine operational issues related to material handling, inventory, and shipping/receiving; resolve within scope and escalate when appropriate.
Train, coach, and provide workflow guidance to Material Handler I and II team members.
Support process-improvement initiatives that enhance warehouse efficiency, safety, inventory accuracy, and standardization.
Coordinate with warehouse and cross-functional partners to support material availability and timely operational execution.
Ensure assigned activities comply with safety, quality, regulatory, and company procedures.
Ability to perform Quality software processes independently

Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
2–4 years of relevant material handling, warehouse, shipping/receiving, or inventory control experience; or a technical certificate/degree in logistics or supply chain.
Demonstrated level of knowledge regarding applicable regulatory standards commensurate with the position's complexity and scope, contributing to organizational regulatory compliance. Minimal applicable standards for this position include:
GMP quality management systems (e.g. ISO 13485)
Clinical laboratory regulations (e.g. CAP, CLIA, NYSDOH, ISO 15189)
Operations within the regulated medical device environment (e.g. IVDD, IVDR, FDA 21 CFR 800 series, FDA 21 CFR Part 11)
Regulated transportation activities (e.g. DOT, IATA)
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, shipping/receiving procedures, and inventory-management practices.
Proficiency with forklifts, powered industrial trucks, and other material-handling equipment, as required by assignment and qualification.
Proficiency with warehouse management systems and standard office software.
Ability to investigate discrepancies, make routine operational decisions, and coordinate appropriate escalation.
Ability to train and guide less experienced team members.
Strong organization, attention to detail, communication, teamwork, and adaptability.
Physical Demands and Working Environment:
Work in warehouse, distribution, production-floor, and adjacent operational environments.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and material handling, including lifting up to 75 lbs.
Exposure to ambient and cold-storage environments, including approximately +4°C, -20°C, and -80°C, as applicable to assigned work.
Exposure to warehouse noise, moving equipment, and active material-handling operations.
Use required PPE, which may include safety glasses, gloves, lab coats, protective footwear, and hearing protection as applicable.
Work standard or assigned operational shifts with potential overtime, weekend coverage, or schedule adjustments based on business needs.
