About this opportunity:
Join us in defining how AI will reshape the Site Material supply chain at Ericsson. This Master Thesis offers an opportunity to design a future operating model for a critical supply category and contributes to the vision of a predictive, data-driven, and increasingly autonomous supply chain by 2030.
The study will explore how Site Material management can evolve from today's supply chain into a smarter and more intelligent operating model enabled by Artificial Intelligence (AI), Integrated Business Planning (IBP), advanced analytics, and digital decision support. You will connect emerging technology capabilities with business processes, governance, organizational roles, data, and decision-making to develop a practical strategic blueprint for the future.
What you will do:
• Analyze the current Site Material supply chain operating model and key challenges, while benchmarking leading practices in AI-enabled supply chains, IBP, advanced analytics, scenario planning, and decision support.• Identify the digital capabilities, data foundations, system integration, and analytical capabilities required to enable the future operating model.• Define a future-state operating model incorporating predictive demand sensing, AI-generated recommendations, automated scenario planning, exception-based management, and human-AI collaboration, supported by a prioritized roadmap from today's model to the 2030 vision.• Validate the proposed model and recommendations through stakeholder interviews, workshops, selected use cases, and relevant internal or external benchmarks.• Present a strategic blueprint that supports Ericsson's long-term ambitions for digitalization, resilience, and cost leadership.
The skills you bring:
• You are a final year Master's student in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Data Science/Artificial Intelligence, Business Analytics, or a related field.• You have a strong interest in supply chain strategy, operating-model design, digital transformation, AI, and IBP, with an analytical mindset to structure complex business problems and translate insights into practical recommendations.• You are interested in AI, machine learning, advanced analytics, optimization, simulation, and digital decision support; experience with Python, SQL, Power BI, or similar data analysis and visualization tools is an advantage.• You have strong communication and presentation skills and can confidently engage with business stakeholders in English.• You can work independently, collaborate across functions, and bring a curious, proactive, and structured problem-solving mindset.
