Position Summary
The Master Scheduler is responsible for overseeing the development, updating, and maintenance of project schedules, integration of those project schedules to create master (multi-project) schedules and medium-range and long-range production resource plans. This position is also responsible for managing the schedule files system and posting and reporting of schedules and resource plans as required. The Master Scheduler will also oversee the configuration of EVM data within project schedule files and implement scheduling and resource planning processes and WBS standards and SOPs. Direct supervision of 1-3 employees.
Domestic and international travel may be required.
Essential Functions
- Develop and maintain performance management baseline, work center master schedules,supplemental schedules for supporting projects and schedule-related EVMS data and documents
- Internally communicate with Planning, Production and Material Control, Engineering, Purchasing, Production, Program Management, Marketing, Finance, and Senior Management Customers, to respond to their informational requirements.
- Maintain configuration control of the scheduling tools and the data within them
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills
- Ability to create project and master schedules and resource plans
- Ability to utilize ERP systems, EVM and network scheduling software (Primavera)
- Must have strong knowledge of shipbuilding workflow, material flow, and production processes
- Must have strong Microsoft Office Suite computer skills
- Must have strong organizational, time management, written and verbal communication skills
- Must have ability to maintain confidentiality and a professional demeanor
- Must adhere to ISO and OSHA policies established by FMG and have high values for safety awareness.
- Perform supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Company policies, procedures, and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; employee recognition and discipline; resolving employee concerns; and developing employees with the skills, competencies, and values needed to achieve Company goals.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- 5 years of experience required
- Experience working in a shipyard planning/scheduling department or complex, multi-product, build-to-order manufacturing environments, including development of project and master schedules and resource planning, proficiency with ERP systems and network scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera, Microsoft Project), and Earned Value Management (EVM) and DCMA guidelines strongly preferred
