Job Description:

About Everest

Everest is a global risk management business with more than 50 years of experience helping businesses grow and navigate uncertainty. Through our insurance and reinsurance capabilities, we support economic activity and create long-term value for our stakeholders. Our colleagues combine underwriting expertise with disciplined decision-making and a commitment to the communities we serve.

About the Role

The Third-Party Data Management Lead will oversee Everest's portfolio of externally sourced data, connecting business stakeholders, Data & Analytics, Technology, the IT Vendor Management Office, Procurement, Finance and data providers. As third-party data underpins underwriting, risk selection, portfolio management, claims, finance and analytics, the role will ensure these investments deliver business value and support operational priorities.

Bringing together data management, vendor relationships, product ownership and delivery, the role will manage third-party data from evaluation and onboarding through integration, service management, renewal and retirement, with clear oversight of ownership, usage, licensing, cost, performance and value.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for Everest's portfolio of third-party data providers and the central point of coordination across business, Data & Analytics, Technology and vendor stakeholders.
  • Maintain a comprehensive inventory of external data assets, including their business purpose, ownership, usage, licensing, cost, dependencies, service contacts and value across underwriting, claims, actuarial, finance, reinsurance and analytics.
  • Lead structured provider reviews covering service performance, service levels, product enhancements, emerging capabilities, roadmap alignment, operational issues and business needs.
  • Partner with the IT Vendor Management Office, Procurement and Finance on renewals, contracts, commercial negotiations, pricing, licensing strategies, volume commitments and investment proposals.
  • Assess utilization, adoption and consumption of third-party data products, identifying opportunities to reduce duplication, right-size licensing, improve coverage and increase return on investment.
  • Act as business product lead for third-party data capabilities, defining requirements, prioritizing enhancements and coordinating provider onboarding, data acquisition, integrations, implementations and material service changes.
  • Ensure appropriate management of ownership, permitted use, entitlements, privacy, compliance, controls, retention and lifecycle requirements, including user access and license administration where centrally supported.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for data-service issues and outages, coordinating resolution across providers, business stakeholders and IT teams, and providing senior leaders with concise reporting on performance, risks, costs, priorities and recommended actions.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in Data Management, Business, Information Systems, Finance, Insurance or a related field.
  • Eight or more years of experience across third-party data, vendor management, product management, business relationship management, project management or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience managing data providers, information services, technology vendors or other strategic external partners.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence outcomes across business, technology, procurement, finance, risk and vendor organizations.
  • Experience with data or software licensing, subscription and usage models, contract structures, renewals, utilization analysis and value assessment.
  • Insurance, reinsurance, financial services or another data-intensive regulated industry experience is strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
  • Strong understanding of external data acquisition, integrations, governance, metadata, usage rights, controls and lifecycle management.
  • Commercial awareness of licensing, subscriptions, pricing, volume commitments, usage models, cost drivers and value realization.
  • Ability to evaluate external data from business-value, service-performance and risk-and-control perspectives.
  • Product-oriented mindset and the ability to translate business needs into clear requirements, priorities, roadmaps and decisions.
  • Strong project-management and organizational skills, with the ability to lead initiatives from concept through implementation and operational support.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills, including engagement with senior leaders and external partners.
  • Collaborative working style, sound judgment and a practical focus on issue resolution, repeatable processes and continuous improvement.

The base salary range for this position is $156,000 - $180,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location. All offers include access to a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, 401k match, retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
