Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is looking for someone to join our Marketing team as a Marketing Technical Editor in Pullman, Washington.
We’re looking for a technical editor to join our Marketing editing team. We collaborate with graphic designers, writers, and others in the Marketing division to develop a wide variety of content, from webpages and news stories to posters, flyers, and videos. We also work closely with authors and engineers across the company to produce technical papers and presentations that are technically accurate with content that flows well and meets our style.
A typical day as a Marketing Technical Editor might include:
Copyediting or proofreading a solution flyer, webpage, email, technical paper, or presentation to meet grammar, punctuation, and company style standards.
Collaborating with subject matter experts, designers, and writers to ensure content is accurate and clear.
Rewriting content to align with SEL tone and voice, brand philosophy, and goals.
Collaborating with other editors to meet deadlines and ensure consistency across projects.

You have work experience as a technical editor, a copyeditor, or a similar role that involves writing or editing technical content.

You have the ability to receive and incorporate editorial and technical feedback into your editing processes.
It is a plus if you have:
Experience editing complex technical documentation and/or editing for high-tech or engineering firms
Experience with desktop publishing software
Experience with technical drawing software (e.g., MS Visio)
Working knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style and the Gregg Reference Manual

Pay Range Data - $32.06 - $47.38 USD Hourly
We set starting pay based on job-related factors such as your experience, training, knowledge, and skills. We are looking to fill this position at the Marketing Technical Editor level, and we welcome applicants with a range of experience. Depending on your background, we may consider you for a different level, with compensation aligned accordingly.
