Key Responsibilities

Provides leadership and direction through senior managers for assessing existing and potential markets. Demonstrates broad and comprehensive understanding of technical and business environments.  Develops and articulates strategies to meet business objectives for more than one broad functional area

Accountable for the performance and results of cross functional groups within a major region or business units to integrate products into a coherent portfolio of products focused on the market.  Manages portfolio like a “product” (business plan, positioning, buying process, market requirements, and marketing plan)

Has "guru" understanding to analyze market data and identify trends/opportunities, develop strategic direction from market information, and create compelling market analysis presentations and recommendations

Directs and controls the activities of more than one functional area and selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function

Maps the needs within one or more broad functional markets and analyzes abstract market segmentations.  Determines which segments to actively pursue

Works with management team to ensure that overall marketing function is effectively meeting the organization’s strategic goals for more than one broad functional area

Creates product strategies for more than one broad functional area that is integrated with AMAT products

Illustrates the vision and key phases of deliverables for products for more than one broad functional area

  • Demonstrates broad and comprehensive understanding of different systems, theories and practices as well as the changing business environment

  • Applies in-depth knowledge of own segment/function, business and commercial expertise to differentiate itself from the competition

  • Leads a business unit, department or sub-function generally through multiple levels of managers of diverse activities; develops and executes business unit, department or sub-functional strategy to achieve key business objectives 

Problem Solving

  • Evaluates key business challenges; directs the development of new or innovative solutions

Impact

  • Guided by company strategy and business objectives, impacts results of segment/function

Interpersonal Skills

  • Influences and negotiates at the top executive levels, with great latitude on outcomes; presents and defends complicated or delicate issues

Position requires understanding of Applied Materials global Standards of Business Conduct and compliance with these standards at all times. This includes demonstrating the highest level of ethical conduct reflecting Applied Materials' core values.

1. Experience in backend semiconductor process and equipment

2. Experience in backend and packaging photo module

3. Hands-on experience bringing new product in new markets - driving penetration and adoption strategy

4. Leading field marketing and customer facing process teams

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
