Our Team/Role:  
 
The Marketing & Public Relations Supervisor is responsible for leading and executing public relations, media relations, thought leadership, industry association engagement, strategic events, and external outreach initiatives within the Energy Efficiency / Electric Mobility / Active Demand Response (EE/EV/ADR) department across the company’s three operating states (Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire). This role ensures consistency with business branding and objectives while executing projects that align with corporate principles. 
 
The Supervisor serves as the primary point of contact for EE/EV/ADR public relations and thought leadership initiatives and works closely with Eversource’s Media Relations team, internal stakeholders, business and sales management, and internal and external marketing partners. 
The Supervisor leads the EE/EV/ADR public relations and thought leadership strategy, serving as the liaison between the department, Media Relations, external PR and advertising agencies, industry associations, and other strategic partners. 


The role can be based in Berlin, CT, Westwood, MA, or Manchester, NH 


Essential Functions: 

  • Leads and executes the EE/EV/ADR public relations strategy, working in partnership with Eversource’s Media Relations team and external PR partners. 
  • Serves as the main point of contact for internal EE/EV/ADR PR requests, meetings, initiatives, and opportunities. 
  • Manages external PR and advertising agencies and leads regular PR calls, initiatives, planning, and execution. 
  • Develops and coordinates outreach and engagement plans designed to increase awareness of EE/EV/ADR solutions and enhance customer interaction. 
  • Leads the EE/EV/ADR strategy for thought leadership initiatives in partnership with Media Relations. 
  • Identifies, evaluates, and recommends strategic thought leadership opportunities, including speaking engagements, event sponsorships, industry conferences, awards, white papers, executive visibility opportunities, and other external engagements. 
  • Reviews and recommends strategic event opportunities that support business objectives, brand positioning, customer engagement, and industry leadership. 
  • Represents EE/EV/ADR at industry conferences, trade associations, thought leadership events, and other external engagements as appropriate. 
  • Works alongside key internal customers, business and sales management directors, and members of the marketing outreach and communications teams to develop and execute strategic communications and outreach initiatives. 
  • Coordinates with internal and external copywriters, graphic designers, photographers, PR agencies, and other vendors to ensure projects are delivered in accordance with deadlines, budgets, and brand requirements. 
  • Serves as a primary editorial resource for the EE/EV/ADR organization, ensuring consistency, quality, accuracy, and alignment with Eversource messaging and objectives. 
  • Develops and maintains relationships with industry associations, external organizations, and other strategic partners to identify opportunities that strengthen Eversource’s visibility and position in the energy efficiency and clean energy industries. 
  • Analyzes public relations, thought leadership, event, and outreach opportunities to determine their strategic value and alignment with business objectives. 
  • Develops and maintains PR, thought leadership, event, and outreach calendars to ensure timely execution of initiatives and opportunities. 
  • Ensures alignment of public relations and thought leadership activities with overall business objectives, corporate principles, and Eversource brand standards. 

  

Technical Knowledge/Skill:

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Business, Journalism, Sustainability or related discipline, or equivalent experience.                   

Experience: 

  • Five (5) to ten (10) years related experience 
  • Minimum of five years of public relations, corporate communications, marketing communications, or related experience. 
  • Agency experience preferred. 
  • Experience working with or communicating to policymakers, government agencies, industry associations, regulators, and other influential stakeholders is preferred. Experience in public policy, legislative communications, government affairs, or related fields is a plus. 
  • Experience in sustainability, clean energy and/or energy efficiency industry desired. 
  • Proven track record of managing public relations, communications, thought leadership, events, special projects, and external engagement initiatives. 
  • Demonstrated experience managing external agencies and internal stakeholders and delivering complex projects within established timelines and budgets.                

 

Working Conditions: 

  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required. 
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary. 
  • Travels approximately 10% of the time. 
  • HYBRID SCHEDULE: Eversource supports work-life balance by offering hybrid schedules for certain roles. Eligibility is based on job responsibilities, operational needs, nature of work and team dynamics. Current guidelines require employees to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the third day set by the employee and supervisor based on department needs. These guidelines apply to roles approved for remote work and are subject to change, based on managerial discretion and work performance. All applicants must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed (for example: emergencies, training, or other business needs) or should the policy change.

$121,080.00-$134,530.00
