About the Role
The Marketing Operations Manager sits within the Global Programs pillar of Cyncly’s Global Integrated Demand Team. This is a critical operational role at the heart of the demand engine — responsible for ensuring the systems, processes, and data infrastructure that power Cyncly’s marketing execution are robust, scalable, and commercially connected.
Reporting to the Global Programs Director, this role owns all ongoing marketing operations activity within Marketo — including lead lifecycle management, customer lifecycle programs, platform integrations, and the operational health of Cyncly’s marketing technology stack. The Marketing Operations Manager works in close partnership with the Salesforce Systems & Implementations function and the Revenue Technology team — ensuring that marketing and revenue systems are tightly aligned across the full customer journey.
This role also owns lead routing and lead assignment logic, ensuring the right leads reach the right teams at the right time — with the speed, accuracy, and data integrity that modern demand generation demands. Cyncly’s growth through acquisition means the marketing technology landscape is complex: the ideal candidate is experienced working across multiple CRM environments, including legacy systems, and is energised rather than deterred by the challenge of building operational clarity across a landscape that continues to evolve. As Cyncly’s integrated demand function matures, the Marketing Operations Manager will play a foundational role in building the operational backbone that connects marketing activity to pipeline, revenue, and retention outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Marketo Platform Ownership
- Own and manage all ongoing Marketo operations, including campaign builds, programme architecture, database health, and platform governance.
- Maintain and continuously improve Marketo configuration, ensuring scalability as the volume and complexity of demand programs grows.
- Serve as the internal subject matter expert for Marketo across the Global Integrated Demand Team, providing guidance, training, and best-practice governance.
- Manage all Marketo integrations — including native and third-party connectors — to ensure consistent, reliable data flow across the marketing technology stack.
Lead Lifecycle & Customer Lifecycle Management
- Define, implement, and maintain lead lifecycle and customer lifecycle frameworks within Marketo, ensuring accurate stage progression and handoff logic across the full funnel.
- Partner with Sales and Revenue Operations to align lifecycle definitions, scoring thresholds, and qualification criteria with commercial expectations and pipeline targets.
- Monitor lifecycle performance, identifying and resolving gaps, bottlenecks, and data integrity issues that impact lead quality or conversion rates.
- Support customer lifecycle programs — including onboarding, nurture, and renewal journeys — ensuring marketing operations infrastructure supports retention and expansion goals alongside acquisition.
Lead Routing & Assignment
- Own all lead routing and lead assignment logic, ensuring leads are accurately and efficiently assigned to the correct sales owners, territories, or queues in real time.
- Build and maintain routing rules in partnership with Sales Operations and the Salesforce Systems team, ensuring Marketo and Salesforce assignment logic are tightly synchronised.
- Proactively identify and resolve routing errors, assignment gaps, and SLA breaches — implementing systemic fixes that reduce manual intervention over time.
- Ensure lead assignment processes support both high-velocity SMB flows and more complex Mid-Market and Enterprise routing requirements.
CRM Integration & RevTech Partnership
- Act as the primary marketing operations partner to the Salesforce Systems & Implementations function and the Revenue Technology team, ensuring alignment across marketing and revenue platforms.
- Own the Marketo–Salesforce integration, maintaining sync health, field mapping, and data consistency between platforms.
- Collaborate with RevTech on new integration requirements, system changes, and technology roadmap decisions that impact marketing operations.
- Ensure marketing operations infrastructure supports ABM, conversational email, and performance marketing programs delivered by the Performance Marketing pillar.
Data Quality, Governance & Reporting
- Maintain the integrity and hygiene of the marketing database — including deduplication, enrichment, consent management, and segmentation logic.
- Build and maintain operational reporting that gives the Global Integrated Demand Team clear visibility into funnel performance, lead volume, routing accuracy, and system health.
- Partner with the Performance Marketing and Industry Demand Directors to ensure data outputs and reporting frameworks support programme optimisation and pipeline accountability.
- Drive compliance with data governance standards, including GDPR and regional data privacy requirements, as they apply to marketing systems and database management.
Cross-Functional & Global Collaboration
- Work in close partnership with the Global Programs Director and broader Global Integrated Demand Team to ensure marketing operations infrastructure supports all three pillars: Global Programs, Industry Demand, and Performance Marketing.
- Collaborate with Sales, Revenue Operations, and RevTech to ensure end-to-end alignment across the lead-to-revenue process.
- Support the evaluation, onboarding, and integration of new marketing technologies as Cyncly’s RevTech stack evolves.
- Operate as a dependable operational partner across the Cyncly Rhythm of Business — contributing to planning cycles, QBRs, and performance reviews.
Experience & Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on marketing operations experience, with deep expertise in Marketo as the primary MAP, and a proven ability to operate across complex, multi-CRM environments.
- Proven experience managing lead lifecycle and customer lifecycle programs within a B2B SaaS or technology environment, including navigating legacy CRM systems and integrating inherited tech stacks resulting from acquisition.
