Splunk is looking for a Marketing Operations Manager – Marketo Engineering who will be responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing our Marketo instance. Your ImpactAs our Marketing Operations Manager – Marketo Engineering, you'll serve as the technical expert responsible for the health, scalability, and performance of our Marketo environment. You'll design and improve marketing automation capabilities, build efficient processes, and help teams execute campaigns with confidence. Your work will directly improve operational efficiency, data quality, and marketing performance across the organization.
You will:Serve as the primary Marketo administrator, ensuring platform performance, governance, and operational excellence.
Build, maintain, and enhance scalable marketing automation programs and workflows.
Partner across Marketing, RevOps, Sales Operations, and Analytics to improve integrations, processes, and campaign execution.
Lead automation initiatives that increase efficiency, improve data quality, and enable measurable business outcomes.
Drive continuous improvements across the marketing technology ecosystem.
- Administer the Marketo platform, including database health, email deliverability, campaign operations, and platform monitoring.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot integrations across Marketo and connected marketing technologies.
- Automate recurring marketing processes using tools such as Openprise to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Establish and maintain governance standards, including naming conventions, folder structures, documentation, and version control.
- Partner with Marketing Strategy, Sales Operations, and Data teams to ensure reliable, scalable marketing processes.
- Provide technical guidance and support for campaign execution, email templates, landing pages, forms, and related assets.
- Design, build, and optimize Marketo campaigns, engagement programs, lead nurturing, segmentation, scoring models, and lifecycle programs.
- Maintain a scalable architecture that supports future business growth.
- Evaluate emerging marketing automation capabilities and recommend new tools or enhancements where appropriate.
- Train and mentor stakeholders on Marketo best practices and platform capabilities.
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, or a related discipline with 7+ years of relevant professional experience, or a Master's degree in a related discipline with 4+ years of relevant professional experience.
Marketo Certification(s)
4+ years of experience with Marketo or comparable marketing automation platforms
3 + years' experience with email deliverability, lead lifecycle, scoring, segmentation, and nurture programs
Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple work streams under tight deadlines
Familiarity with AGILE/SCRUM process management methodologies
Prior experience working in B2B SaaS or a high-tech environment
Ability to train and mentor teams on marketing automation best practices
Demonstrated success in optimizing and scaling marketing automation systems in a growth environment
Experience integrating Marketo as part of a larger RevOps infrastructure
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to influence process improvements
Experience managing integrations between marketing automation and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and other data sources
Experience with REST / SOAP APIs, Webhooks, JavaScript (or similar technologies)
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex campaign logic and data flows

U.S. employees are offered benefits, subject to Cisco’s plan eligibility rules, which include medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, paid parental leave, short and long-term disability coverage, and basic life insurance. U.S. employees are eligible for paid time away as described below, subject to Cisco’s policies:
10 paid holidays per full calendar year, plus 1 floating holiday for non-exempt employees
1 paid day off for employee’s birthday, paid year-end holiday shutdown, and 4 paid days off for personal wellness determined by Cisco
Non-exempt employees** receive 16 days of paid vacation time per full calendar year, accrued at rate of 4.92 hours per pay period for full-time employees
Exempt employees participate in Cisco’s flexible vacation time off program, which has no defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use (subject to availability and some business limitations)
80 hours of sick time off provided on hire date and each January 1st thereafter, and up to 80 hours of unused sick time carried forward from one calendar year to the next
Additional paid time away may be requested to deal with critical or emergency issues for family members
Optional 10 paid days per full calendar year to volunteer
For non-sales roles, employees are also eligible to earn annual bonuses subject to Cisco’s policies.
Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components, subject to the applicable Cisco plan. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:
.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;
1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;
1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and
Once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay 0% up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.

$173,400.00 - $265,200.00Non-Metro New York state & Washington state:
$161,300.00 - $235,500.00* For quota-based sales roles on Cisco’s sales plan, the ranges provided in this posting include base pay and sales target incentive compensation combined.
