Basic Function:


The Marketing Manager ensures that Terrain’s economic insights are communicated to stakeholders of participating Farm Credit associations in a timely and effective manner that supports the business development goals for participating associations. The Marketing Manager can think strategically, execute flawlessly, and adapt quickly. This role uses best practices to digitally deliver Terrain content that matches an audience segment’s behaviors and insights.


Terrain is a team of ag economists who provide insights for the customers of participating Farm Credit associations. Terrain’s content (reports, articles, media coverage, presentations, video, etc.) provide important information for the business decisions that customers face. These reports supplement the value customers receive from doing business with Farm Credit and reinforce the deep industry knowledge that our Farm Credit partner associations have. The digital landscape that disseminates Terrain content to support the ambitions and goals of Farm Credit customers includes Terrain’s owned channels and the channels of our Farm Credit partner associations.


The Marketing Manager performs a wide range of duties in support of the utilization of Terrain output, including digital channel analytic insights, search optimization, email marketing, social media management, and website content marketing. The role is responsible for leading strategic content delivery. The currently includes the utilization of Terrain email platform, as well as assisting the Terrain team on social media utilization efforts by providing leadership on best practices and relevant trends that are a fit with Terrain’s social media strategy. This role is expected to partner with Terrain leadership to ensure full utilization of the group’s output as the channels available evolve. The Marketing Manager will also collaborate with Terrain’s Farm Credit association partners to ensure continuity across the digital landscape and to elevate the value of Terrain as a tool leveraged by Farm Credit lenders in their business relationships.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Creates and deploys emails for Terrain subscribers following content marketing and newsletter best practices

  • Manages Terrain’s database containing contact details within regulatory compliance for a financial institution operating in California and other U.S. states

  • Amplifies and repurposes Terrain content to reach more employees and customers in their preferred media consumption formats and channels

  • Leads the social media strategy for Terrain’s channels and maintain Terrain’s social media playbook

  • Assists Terrain analysts with their use of social media as part of the overall social media engagement strategy.

  • Works with Terrain’s Editor and Graphic Designer on the daily management of Terrain’s social media channels

  • Collaborates with the digital marketing teams of Terrain’s Farm Credit association partners, so Terrain can support their paid search, paid social and other digital advertising strategies with right-fit content

  • Develops and maintains dashboards to enhance visibility into Terrain’s full reach and business impact across multiple Farm Credit entities

  • Assists Terrain’s Graphic Designer with adding new content to website, as needed


 

Levels of Supervision Exercised and Received:

  • Priorities and desired direction for Terrain’s content publication and marketing team – part of which is this role – will be clearly communicated on a regular basis by Terrain’s Engagement Leader

  • Expected to perform job duties independently

  • Involved in shaping Terrain’s content utilization strategy, supported by Engagement Leader and marketing agency, and expected to execute strategy

  • Involved in growing and enhancing Terrain’s social media strategy including organic and paid strategy, supported by Engagement Leader, and expected to lead the partnership with Terrain’s content editor, analyst team, and partner Farm Credit association social media channel managers to execute strategy

  • Lead the development of a comprehensive digital analytics dashboard for Terrain, supported by Engagement Leader and Executive Head. Will include working in partnership with marketing agency and partner Farm Credit association digital leads to feed data from multiple sources, in order to measure the full impact of Terrain’s reach and value.

  • Will lead the analysis of digital data, then work with the Engagement Leader, Editor and partner Association stakeholders to identify and execute opportunities for testing and areas for improvement.

 

Typical Education and Experience:

  • At least 5 years relevant experience in digital marketing, marketing or related field – ideally in the financial services or agricultural industry – with a bachelor’s degree

  • Proficient with Hubspot or similar marketing automation platform

  • Proficient with web analytics tools (Google Analytics, Power BI)

  • Experience with Content Management Systems (WordPress)

  • Experience managing CRMs, email lists, or other contact profiles in a database

  • Experience managing paid and organic social media campaigns and/or channels using social media management platforms, such as Brandwatch, Hootsuite, Sprout Social, etc.

  • Knowledge of social media usage among niche agricultural audiences or experience performing market research related to the usage of digital channels and platforms

  • Familiar with CCPA law and regulations

  • Marketing budget and campaign management skills

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Comfortable working in Asana or similar project management tool

  • Comfortable working in Asana or similar project management tool

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meeting deadlines and quality expectations

Essential Requirements:

Must have the ability to perform basic office tasks and work in a typical office setting. Employee will be sitting for extended periods of time and accomplishing work at a desk and work at a computer for an extended period. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to adequately convey ideas and work well with a team. Some lifting and moving of items up to 25 pounds required.  Work during established business hours and may require occasional weekend and/or evening work. Position requires the ability to travel.

FULL-TIME REMOTE: These roles and job functions can be done remotely, while maintaining our strong commitment to customer service and our business goals. Employees are welcome to come to an office to work if needed, and some travel for team meetings will be required.

PAY RANGE:

Minimum $65,535.82 - Max $104,857.32 Annual

This range is reflective of the national salary average for this position and will be adjusted using geographic variance for physical location of the hired candidate. American AgCredit may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.
