Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Marketing Manager, US Strategic Alliances to join our MedTech team.  Position can be located in West Chester, PA (preferred) or Raynham, MA.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Marketing Manager, Strategic Alliances will manage the US co-promotion efforts of select alliances between J&J MedTech Orthopaedics and external partners.  The position will work closely with the J&J MedTech Orthopaedics Global Growth Marketing (GGM) and US Marketing teams to manage and grow existing partnerships, including new product/service launches via existing partners. As necessary, the Marketing Manager will partner with New Business Development and other internal support functions to identify potential new partnership opportunities, execute transactions, launch new products and services, and ultimately, ensure the overall execution of the alliances. They will act as the primary interface with our alliance partners and will be responsible for program governance, project management and ongoing contract management. The strategy, implementation and execution duties will be focused on the U.S. market.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proactively manage specific strategic alliances as assigned and act as a key interface with the partner and relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Work with the Marketing Director, Strategic Alliances to drive the business relationships and manage contractual aspects of existing alliances. Organize and participate in governance meetings, ensuring productive sessions via high quality agendas, facilitation of discussion, issue resolution, and detailed minutes with focus on follow-up and completion of action items.
  • Collaborate with J&J MedTech Orthopaedics marketing and R&D partners as well as Operations, Legal, Finance, and HCC to ensure existing and potential new alliances are in harmony with all business and legal obligations. Ensure all internal partners understand key contractual issues.
  • As requested by Marketing leadership and in partnership with New Business Development, identify, develop, and/or manage strategic alliances both external to and within Johnson & Johnson, working in close co-operation with the Marketing Director, Strategic Alliances.
  • Assist with developing and modeling structures for potential new partnerships prior to vetting the structures/models with all required internal stakeholders before seeking approval to proceed from senior management. This will require close collaboration with GGM & US Marketing plus business support partners (e.g. Finance, Legal, Commercial Operations, NBD, HCC, etc.) as well as strong project management skills.
  • In partnership with New Business Development and Legal, assist the Director with preparation and editing of deal terms ahead of and during negotiation with potential new alliance partners that have been vetted and approved by senior leadership.
  • Monitor ongoing contracts and proactively inform stakeholders of important dates and milestones to ensure contract compliance and that all financial impacts are identified and planned for.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required, Master’s Degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years dynamic business experience in any of the following areas: Marketing, Sales, R&D, or a combination of experience in these functions is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in medical device or other healthcare regulated environment is preferred.
  • Ability to understand and operate within contractual agreements is required.
  • Strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills are required.
  • Strong leadership, management and teamwork qualities are required. 
  • Strategic/tactical planning and implementation capabilities are required. 
  • Solid understanding of market analysis, financial planning, new product development and project management is required. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Experience creating and delivering cohesive, professional, and compliant promotional/educational programs and marketing collateral is preferred.  
  • This position may require up to 20% domestic travel, including some weekends.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $100,000 to $172,500.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs.  Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan.  The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year.  Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

  • Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year.
