In India, Shell operates in both direct and indirect channels to serve the passenger car segment. For this position, the successful applicant will be directly responsible for the aftermarket portfolio in the passenger car segment.

What’s the role?

As the Passenger Car Motor Oil (PCMO) Sector Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • designing the category strategy for Passenger Car Motor Oils in the indirect channel and executing it with clear Marketing & Business objectives, in line with the Global Category Priorities.
  • includes developing and implementing category marketing action plans, customer value propositions for our Helix Brand & products in close collaboration with cross functional teams within and outside the Marketing organization including sales, supply chain, technical, digital, pricing.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Own the 4Ps view for the PCMO brand in after-market to increase Market Share and Margin
  • Lead Passenger Car sector strategy and P&L- lead planning process (short & long term), drive effectiveness of key building blocks by working closely on implementation plans on-ground and reviews with sales & RTM teams.
  • Create compelling consumer/customer value propositions based on consumer & competitive Insights to uniquely deliver needs and extract value in a differentiated way.
  • Create and own the sector marketing activity calendar with OTIF delivery to ensure P&L & brand plans are achieved.
  • Ensure the right balance between tactical and strategic brand building priorities for delivery in short and long term.
  • Plan and implement New product introductions pipeline in-line with the strategy and/or as per market insights and requirements.
  • Maximize value creation and capture through balancing key levers, building and executing strong pricing strategies to drive overall business growth
  • Ensure strong monitoring and control on marketing budgets  via PIR process, hive 9 implementation and periodic review of business/programs with internal teams and vendors as appropriate
  • Generate high impact, highly effective marketing campaigns, including excellence on media strategy and planning as well as promotions/programs development and influencer strategies.
  • Ensure that the synergies are capitalized and execution takes place within the agreed marketing calendars 

What We Need From You

  • 7+ years of relevant experience, with experience in category management in a highly competitive environment. Stint in frontline commercial roles will be an advantage. Mandatory experience in brand & communications including media planning, digital marketing, while experience in trade & category marketing will be an added advantage.
  • Experienced and proven in delivering ambitious margin and volume aspiration in automotive or consumer goods industry
  • Sound and proven commercial acumen & P&L delivery that has been demonstrated in past professional experience
  • Strategic thinker with ability to define, develop and implement an E2E offer
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • A detailed knowledge of transport, industry or consumer lubricants markets, covering B2C marketing/sales activities is desired but not essential
