About the Role
Join RiverSource as a Marketing Innovation Intern and explore how new ideas, emerging technology, and creative approaches can help our marketing teams better engage with advisors and clients.
This role is ideal for a student who is passionate about marketing and interested in how tools such as artificial intelligence, digital platforms, and new ways of working are shaping the future of the profession. Working alongside experienced marketing professionals, you'll support a variety of projects across communications, content, research, and innovation initiatives while gaining exposure to how marketing teams operate within a leading financial services organization.
Key Responsibilities
Explore how emerging technologies and AI can support marketing activities.
Research industry trends, marketing innovations, and best practices.
Support the development of marketing communications, presentations, and resources.
Assist with projects focused on improving team effectiveness and enhancing the marketing experience.
Gather insights from colleagues and stakeholders to help identify new ideas and opportunities.
Contribute to discussions on how marketing can continue to evolve and adapt in a changing environment.
Present key learnings and project outcomes at the conclusion of the internship.
Required Qualifications
Current undergraduate student graduating December 2027 or May/June 2028.
Studying Marketing, Communications, Business, Digital Marketing, Advertising, or a related discipline.
Interest in marketing and curiosity about innovation, artificial intelligence, and emerging trends.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Creative thinker with a willingness to learn and explore new ideas.
Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple priorities.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and PowerPoint.

In-Office Collaboration
We are a client-centric, relationship-based business. Working together, in-person, is foundational to how we achieve results. By fostering a culture of face-to-face collaboration, idea sharing, productivity and personal connection, we deliver for our stakeholders — clients, advisors, employees and shareholders. Our employees work in the office at least four (4) days per week, with flexibility to work from home one (1) day per week. Some roles may require additional in-office time or different in-office expectations, and specific requirements will be discussed during the hiring process.
Base Pay Salary
The estimated hourly rate for this role is $27.50 per hour. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
