AAAS is seeking a Marketing Coordinator to join our Office of Publishing!
The Marketing Coordinator provides day-to-day marketing, administrative and project support for the Marketing and Advertising team, helping execute campaigns, coordinate conferences and events, maintain marketing assets, and track campaign performance. This role works closely with marketing, sales, editorial, and external vendors to ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule. The Marketing Coordinator plays a key role in supporting marketing initiatives that increase awareness, engagement, and revenue across the organization's publishing programs.

What You’ll Do
- Support the execution of integrated marketing campaigns across Advertising, Custom Publishing, and other publishing programs by coordinating projects, managing marketing assets, and ensuring campaigns are delivered accurately and on schedule.
- Execute HTML email creation, scheduling, deployment, and reporting for multiple marketing campaigns, while supporting broader digital marketing initiatives, including social media efforts that drive website traffic, lead generation, and business development.
- Manage conference, exhibition, and event logistics, including inventory, shipping, exhibition materials, booth staffing, travel arrangements, and promotional assets for annual conferences and industry events.
- Develop and maintain marketing project timelines using project management software, proactively monitor project progress, communicate priorities and deadlines, identify potential issues, and support timely decision-making to keep projects on schedule.
- Maintain accurate customer, prospect, lead, and campaign information within the CRM to support lead generation, campaign attribution, and sales follow-up activities.
- Monitor marketing performance and maintain dashboards and recurring reports on campaign effectiveness, lead generation, webinars, conferences, and other key business metrics to support marketing and sales decision-making.
- Assist with webinar logistics, registrations, promotional communications, and post-event reporting.
- Oversee the production, quality assurance, distribution, and organization of marketing collateral, campaign assets, and project documentation.
- Schedule and manage insertion orders for internal and external advertising and marketing campaigns.
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, editorial, external vendors, and other stakeholders to gather marketing assets, communicate priorities and deadlines, and ensure marketing initiatives are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects, adjusting priorities as business needs evolve in a fast-paced environment.
- Provide administrative, operational, and project support for departmental initiatives and special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One to three years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Experience supporting email marketing campaigns; familiarity with HTML email platforms preferred.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience coordinating projects, events, or conferences preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using CRM, marketing automation, and/or project management software preferred.
- Ability to analyze marketing campaign performance, prepare reports, and interpret key metrics to support business decisions.
- Experience using CRM platforms to support sales, marketing, lead management, and campaign tracking preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across multiple departments, locations, and time zones.
- Willingness and ability to travel to national and international conferences, trade shows, and company events.

The anticipated initial rate of compensation for this position is between $52,000 – $55,000 per year. AAAS currently provides the following benefits for this position: paid vacation leave, paid sick leave, paid holidays, health insurance, flexible spending account, dental insurance, life insurance, vision insurance, retirement benefits, short- and long-term disability, and life insurance, each subject to the terms of the applicable program. Additional benefits may apply.
