Job Description

The Marketing Communications Specialist is a writer, storyteller, and content developer responsible for helping communicate the impact of Fresno Mission through compelling written content. This role focuses on donor communications, newsletters, fundraising campaigns, ministry storytelling, interviews, and content development across print and digital platforms. The ideal candidate is organized, creative, compassionate, and able to transform real life stories into meaningful communications that inspire engagement and support.

What You'll Do

  •  Write and edit donor emails, campaign messaging, appeal letters, newsletters, and ministry communications
  •  Gather stories and testimonies from guests, volunteers, staff, and community members
  •  Conduct interviews and develop written content for fundraising and awareness campaigns
  •  Assist with content layout and light graphic formatting for print and email communications
  •  Help organize marketing projects, campaign deadlines, and communication calendars
  •  Support ministry departments with written communication needs
  •  Collaborate with the marketing team on campaign strategy and storytelling opportunities
  •  Maintain brand voice and messaging consistency across all communications
  •  Assist with website content updates and copywriting projects as needed
  • You'll work closely with the Director of Marketing and a team that enjoys brainstorming ideas, telling meaningful stories, and helping people connect with the mission.

Requirements

Experience: 2–3 years in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, nonprofit communications, or related fields

Technical Skills: Strong writing and editing skills. Familiarity with Canva, Microsoft Office, email marketing platforms, or similar communication tools.

Faith Requirement

A mature walk with Jesus Christ and the ability to articulate Biblical beliefs and apply them within the context of Fresno Mission.

All employees of Fresno Mission are an integral part of the outreach ministry of a non-denominational, evangelical organization sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ through transformational programs that provide food, shelter, clothing, education, job training, and family restoration.

All employees are considered Christian missionaries and are required, from time to time, to participate in chapel services, outreach ministries, Bible studies, and prayer times. Due to the nature of this ministry, each employee must maintain a Christian testimony of faith and agree with the Fresno Mission Statement of Faith.
