Job Summary:
The Marketing Communications Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and managing comprehensive and integrated marketing communications programs. The scope of these programs will include public relations, social media, advertising, pre-member/sales materials, member communications, provider communications and web content.
Essential Functions:
- Develop, implement, and create content for marketing plans, public relations and advertising campaigns for assigned market/product
- Oversee the creation and implementation of messaging, content and design of materials/information to support sales, community and key audience education efforts
- Maintain current knowledge of all regulatory/compliance marketing guidelines for designated product lines and ensure all regulatory and accreditation requirements that govern insurance advertising and communications across assigned market and products are met
- Ensure adherence to company and state media/communications policies and requirements
- Responsible for identifying new story opportunities to position CareSource with media outlets and build brand awareness with target audiences
- Develop and manage content for media and external audiences, including news stories, news releases, social content and other communications
- Partner with CareSource media team to respond to media inquiries in a timely and appropriate manner
- Train, prepare, and support company spokespeople for media interviews
- Provide support during crisis situations with strategic communications
- Monitor daily local, regional and national news coverage about CareSource, health care, and related topics
- Manage the assigned market/product brand implementation and provide recommendations to business owners for optimization (i.e. web content, advertising campaigns, external communications
- Manage agencies in markets to support company initiatives
- Ensure communications and advertising campaigns reflect data-driven insights, market dynamics, strategic enterprise goals, consumer research and brand
- Establish metrics and monitor communication plan execution; provide ongoing feedback and recommendations for improvements
- Ensure all printed and digital pre-member and member materials and advertising are accurate and meet rigorous internal, state and federal regulatory and accreditation requirements
- Develop schedules and timelines for assigned product lines and ensure all communications, advertising, sales and member materials are launched on schedule
- Identify gaps and develop new processes and procedures to ensure accuracy, meet deadlines and achieve membership goals
- Utilizing consultative methods, develop and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders
- Perform any other job duties as requested
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, or related field or equivalent years of relevant work experience is required
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in marketing/communications is required; healthcare marketing and communications experience is preferred
- Three (3) years of professional writing experience required

- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage numerous projects in a highly regulated, fast-paced environment
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong project management and process skills
- Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Working knowledge of WordPress CMS, CRM, UX / UI, web design, SEO, SEM preferred
- Ability to work independently and with diverse teams in a matrix environment
- Team and customer oriented
- Ability to work within tight timeframes and meet strict deadlines
- Ability to drive multiple projects simultaneously

Compensation Range:
$73,260.00 - $117,180.00
CareSource takes into consideration a combination of a candidate’s education, training, and experience as well as the position’s scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required for the role, and other external and internal data when establishing a salary level.
