Positioned within an entrepreneurial branded beauty marketing, sales, and distribution environment, this role offers extensive operational exposure across multiple facets of retail commerce, product distribution, and brand coordination. Operating as part of a high-output, collaborative team, the position assists in driving local marketing and selling channels for a diverse portfolio of local and global beauty, haircare, and skincare brands distributed through major national retailers and e-commerce platforms.
The primary purpose of the position is to provide robust analytical, administrative, and software-based support to the commercial and brand management functions. Working a standard 40-hour week, Monday to Friday, the successful incumbent will manage key digital entries, execute price audits, and maintain public relations and social media frameworks to ensure flawless product launch executions. This role is designed for an ambitious, technologically adept administrator who excels at hands-on learning by doing and seeks to build a holistic understanding of brand growth within the South African retail market.
Strategic Marketing Planning Support: Assist the Commercial Manager with the structural development and implementation of annual brand plans, promotional calendars, and sales growth strategies.
Data Retrieval and Formatting: Extract and format internal sales data to assist management teams with pricing evaluations and strategic planning.
SKU and Master Data Governance: Manage the creation of new SKU codes and accurately input comprehensive product master data and annual selling price updates directly into the Odoo system.
Public Relations Coordination: Compile PR samples, draft press release copy, assemble formal press kits, track media coverage, and monitor multi-platform media exposure.
Social Media and Digital Maintenance: Coordinate and maintain monthly content calendars and stakeholder communication lines across Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, and LinkedIn profiles.
Website and Inventory Administration: Perform daily updates on company websites regarding stock status, promotions, and pricing while vetting retail orders against inventory requirements.
Retailer and Key Accounts Liaison: Assist in preparing presentations and strategy logs for major retail accounts, coordinating retailer-based events, and managing administrative onboarding parameters.
Competitor Auditing: Execute periodic and bi-annual pricing audits on competitive brands to help inform local pricing strategy.
Asset Creation: Handle the ad-hoc creation of visual marketing assets utilising designated design software.
RequirementsEssential Requirements
A suitable Marketing or Business diploma or degree which explicitly includes digital marketing.
Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in a highly responsible, busy office administrative role.
Achievement of at least a 60% pass mark on a client-supplied Excel screening test (non-negotiable).
Daily operational proficiency using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Valid driver's licence and ownership of a reliable motor vehicle.
Complete verbal and written fluency in English.
Proven capability to work independently, navigate multiple projects concurrently, and display precise attention to detail.
Prior administrative experience gained specifically within a sales or marketing environment for a small to mid-sized company distributing consumer products.
