Overview of the Position:

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator supports the daily execution of PCA's marketing, communications, and storytelling efforts across the school system. This entry-level position provides creative and production support for social media, graphic design, photography, website content, digital communications, campus displays, marketing campaigns, and special projects. By helping manage recurring content and production needs, this position enables the Marketing & Communications team to more consistently capture and share the exceptional learning, student experiences, and stories taking place across PCA's campuses.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Content & Social Media

  • Assist with the creation, scheduling, and publishing of social media content across PCA platforms.
  • Capture photography and video of classrooms, student life, Fine Arts, Athletics, chapel, special programs, and school events.
  • Create short-form social content, including Reels and other video.
  • Assist the Digital Content Specialist and Associate Director of Communications with campus and event coverage.
  • Help identify and capture compelling classroom, student, faculty, and program stories across all PCA campuses.
  • Maintain an organized photo and video library.

Graphic Design & Creative Production

  • Create and update routine graphics using Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Produce and manage graphics for Principal newsletters, social media, campus screens, events, programs, and other school communications.
  • Assist with apparel graphics and other branded materials.
  • Support the development and updating of environmental graphics, signage, and school wall designs.
  • Resize, adapt, and version existing creative assets for multiple platforms and audiences.
  • Ensure creative work follows PCA brand standards.

Website & Digital Communications

  • Assist with routine website content updates.
  • Support production of digital newsletters and other communications as needed.
  • Update campus screens and digital displays.
  • Assist with event registration pages, campaign landing pages, and other digital content.
  • Help ensure information and imagery remain current across PCA's digital channels.

Marketing & Campaign Support

  • Provide production support for enrollment campaigns, Development initiatives, special events, and schoolwide marketing efforts.
  • Assist the Marketing Manager with campaign assets and execution.
  • Support Admissions with marketing materials and event promotion.
  • Assist with special projects and major PCA initiatives.
  • Coordinate with Communications, Admissions, Athletics, Fine Arts, Development, and school leadership as needed.

Storytelling & Campus Coverage

  • Develop familiarity with the rhythms of each PCA campus and division to proactively identify storytelling opportunities.
  • Attend classroom activities, special learning experiences, performances, events, and other programs to capture timely content.
  • Assist with occasional evening and weekend coverage.
  • Deliver content in a timely manner for same-day or next-day use when appropriate.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Media, Graphic Design, or a related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in communications, marketing, social media, content creation, or graphic design; internships and relevant college experience will be considered.
  • Strong working knowledge of social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
  • Experience creating graphics in Canva; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
  • Strong photography skills and basic video capture and editing capabilities.
  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and communication skills.
  • Strong visual judgment and an understanding of brand consistency.
  • Ability to create and adapt content for social media, websites, digital displays, newsletters, and other communication channels.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to identify needs, take initiative, and work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced school environment and moving between campuses, classrooms, events, and projects throughout the day.
  • Willingness to occasionally work evenings and weekends to support school events and activities.
  • Passion for Christian education and enthusiasm for capturing and sharing the stories of PCA students, faculty, programs, and community.
  • Prestonwood Baptist Church member preferred.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Repetitive motion of the wrists, hands and fingers due to typing
  • Close visual acuity required for viewing a computer monitor, preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, and reading
  • Hearing – ability to perceive sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction
  • Talking – expressing ideas by means of the spoken word to convey instructions to other workers and customers
  • Ability to communicate effectively, even in stressful situations
  • Sedentary office work with occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds
  • Numerous phone calls
  • Subject to frequent interruptions and frequent deadlines

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Media, Graphic Design, or a related field
