Roles and Responsibilities
- Responsible for accurate and timely preparation of risk reports and market data update. Monitor trading activities against approved limits (e.g. VaR, stop-loss, position limits)
- Provide independent second-line oversight over front office trading activities and challenge excessive or unusual risk-taking behaviour
- Identify market risk concentrations, perform market risk analysis & monitor limit utilizations. Ensure timely escalation of limit breaches and remediation of actions.
- Responsible for UAT testing of new products, system upgrades, change in model, change in curves/methodologies to ensure correct risk identifications, measurements, implementations, and reporting.
- Perform annual review and alignment of risk policies/procedures to Head Office, incorporating local regulatory requirements.
- Ensure adherence to market risk processes and regulations (e.g. Bank Negara Malaysia, MAS, Securities Commission where applicable)
- Identify gaps/weaknesses in market risk processes and facilitate resolution of any governance, controls, audit & regulatory issues.
- Support internal/external audit reviews and regulatory requests
- Participate in process changes and initiatives of MRM.
Requirements
- Preferably more than 5 years experience in market risk management field.
- Degree in Finance, Mathematics, Banking, Economics or related fields.
- Working knowledge of Market Risk/Product Control processes and related Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) regulatory requirements.
- Good knowledge in Treasury products across asset classes with experience in handling discussion with traders.
- Possess end-to-end process and control mindset. Ability to translate regulatory and policy requirements into operational workflows.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, MS Word, Bloomberg.
- Familiar with front office systems (Murex), VBA and Power BI is an advantage.
- Excellent team player with good communication skills.
- Good spoken and written English.

Skills Required

- More than 5 years' experience in market risk management (preferable).
- Familiarity with front office systems (Murex).
- Experience with VBA scripting.
- Experience with Power BI.
- Excellent team player with strong verbal and written English communication skills.
