Acuity is seeking a Market Analyst to drive Acuity’s market strategy and profitable growth by owning market intelligence and delivering clear, actionable, and decision‑ready insights. This role is responsible for synthesizing internal, competitive, and industry data into a cohesive market narrative that explains performance, identifies opportunities and risks, and informs strategic direction. The Market Analyst will serve as a trusted thought partner to Regional Market Directors and cross‑functional leaders, guiding decisions on geographic and product strategies, while developing high‑impact analyses, tools, and visualizations that enable prioritization, support goal execution, and improve performance across markets.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Collect information and analyze the marketplace, competitive position, and business results across both the insurance industry and Acuity. Leverage a data-driven approach to communicate observations, conclusions, and actionable insights to business leaders to enhance growth and profitability.
  • Synthesize and analyze external macroeconomic and industry segment data while drawing out trends, opportunities, or challenges.
  • Act as a proactive thought partner with Regional Market Directors and other stakeholders to support geographic strategy by identifying issues, sizing opportunities, informing priorities, and tracking progress against strategic and performance goals.
  • Analyze and clearly articulate the underlying drivers of growth, retention, mix, and profitability, and summarize implications and recommended actions to business leaders.
  • Identify and evaluate business ideas, market opportunities, and emerging trends that can inform geographic, pricing, underwriting, distribution, or product strategy.
  • Analyze disparate and complex data sets in creative ways to generate new insights and support varied corporate and market strategies.
  • Translate insights into decision-ready materials, action plans, and progress tracking that support state strategy, drive results, and inform leadership discussions. Ensure materials are concise, visually clear, and structured around key takeaways and business implications.
  • Build and enhance scalable tools, models, and frameworks that improve planning, targeting, benchmarking, recapture efforts, and performance management across the organization.
  • Foster trust-based partnerships and strong relationships across the organization to understand the nuances of geographic markets, product lines, and to develop creative solutions; tailoring insights to stakeholder needs.
  • Proactively follow insurance industry trends to support Acuity’s dynamic and ongoing strategies, integrating both internal and external data to provide a holistic, forward-looking view of the business.
  • Actively pursue continued professional development, deepening knowledge of analytical and statistical techniques while enriching industry knowledge.
  • Highly regular and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION: 

Bachelor’s degree or extensive applicable experience.

EXPERIENCE: 

Advanced analytical experience, preferably in the property & casualty insurance field, with expertise leveraging analysis tools/software. Proficiency with Excel and data visualization tools such as Tableau and business intelligence platforms such as Cognos preferred.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Displays strong capabilities in data synthesis, analysis, and visualization. Demonstrates solid presentation skills and the ability to simplify complex information for a broad audience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office with demonstrated skills in Excel and PowerPoint, including the ability to create, manipulate, and analyze spreadsheets and develop presentation materials.
  • Demonstrates strong business acumen and sound judgment, translating complex data into a clear market narrative that connects trends to business outcomes such as growth, profitability, and mix, and informs actionable recommendations, prioritization, and decision-making.
  • Builds credibility with partners across all departments and influences decisions through clear thinking, strong communication, and high-quality analysis.
  • Exceptional research, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excels in verbal and written communications, effectively collaborating with a broad audience ranging from peers to senior executive leaders.
  • Readily adapts to changing conditions, while remaining positive and productive.
  • Effectively prioritizes, organizes, and accomplishes tasks in a self-directed environment.

This job is classified as exempt.

The salary range for this position is $65,000-90,000 annually. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
