PATH is seeking a hands-on Market Access Lead to support work strengthening access to health products and improving public and private sector supply chains. The ideal candidate brings a combination of health sciences, pharmaceutical, medical device, commercial, analytical, and global health experience, with the ability to translate technical and market insights into practical strategies and implementation.

This role is suited to an analytical individual who can independently conduct market analysis, develop supply chain strategies, work with public and private sector stakeholders, and support implementation in-country. The ideal candidate may have experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device, life sciences, manufacturing, distribution, and/or the healthcare sector and subsequently transitioned into consulting, government, NGO, or global health work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze health product markets, supply chains, and procurement systems to identify opportunities to improve access, affordability, availability, and sustainability of essential health products.
  • Develop and support implementation of public and private sector supply chain strategies.
  • Assess and strengthen supply chain capacity, maturity, and performance across forecasting, procurement, inventory management, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Support procurement strategy development, including approaches to strengthen institutional and operational procurement capacity.
  • Support supply planning and distribution strategies, including contingency and surge logistics planning where appropriate.
  • Translate technical and scientific information into practical business, market, procurement, and implementation recommendations.
  • Support the introduction, scale-up, and optimization of health products, ideally within maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) and/or respiratory care, although specific product experience is not required.
  • Conduct field-level analysis and provide hands-on technical support to partners and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to technical deliverables, reports, presentations, and strategic recommendations for donors and health-sector partners.
  • Oversee project implementation across multiple geographies including the day-to-day responsibilities of project staff.
  • Collaborate with and manage, as needed, implementing partner activities, ensuring workplan and budget compliance.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field such as business, supply chain management, international development, public health, pharmaceutical sciences, health sciences, procurement, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years professional experience required.
  • Experience working within health product supply chains, including experience with a distributor, wholesaler, central medical store, national procurement agency, manufacturer, or similar organization.
  • Detailed understanding of public and private sector procurement processes, including regulatory compliance, export requirements, contracting, inventory and stock management, and delivery terms and conditions.
  • Proven quantitative and analytical abilities – spanning market intelligence, forecasting, and supply chain/product landscape assessments – used to inform product introduction, scale-up, and business or delivery strategy decisions.
  • Experience designing procurement strategies and/or contracting terms and conditions to facilitate improved product access.
  • Experience translating analysis into practical recommendations and supporting implementation in the global health sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
  • Recent experience as a project and/or workstream lead in global health, managing competing priorities, partner scopes, and budget compliance.
  • English language fluency required.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience with maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) product markets including their procurement and distribution.
  • Experience with new business development, fundraising, grant writing, or proposal development.
  • Experience with health financing, national health insurance, reimbursement systems, or reimbursement schedules.
  • Established networks across the global health sector and experience convening public, private, and development-sector stakeholders.
  • French language proficiency.

Skills Required
