Job Description

For our Leidschendam office we are looking for a Marine Geophysics Workforce Manager.

The Marine Geophysics Service Line in Fugro needs to substantially grow / optimise its personnel numbers and experience levels globally in the coming 3 years to meet the demands of a growing market, changing operational model and the evolving needs of our clients worldwide. Across the four regions Marine Geophysics needs to create global transparency in the offshore operational planning and workforce forecasting, to expand, share and upskill its workforce and ensure there is broad and sufficient expertise across our regions. 

As a Marine Geophysics Workforce Manager you develop and lead the program to expand and improve the workforce utilization and expertise levels to meet the demands of a rapidly growing market and adapt to changing operational models. This regards in principle a temporary position of approximately 18 months up to 2 years with the potency to extend further or to grow into another role.

Your role

• You develop a transparent personnel deployment model, to optimise personnel resources through strategic recruitment, contractor management, and global secondments of experienced staff;

• You are responsible for the roll out and implementation of the deployment model in the four regions ensuring transparent and harmonized processes across Marine Geophysics;

• You create and deploy an internationally mobile field pool of personnel;

• You develop a program to upskill and develop our existing workforce globally and in growing markets, via thorough understanding of the different staffing and expertise requirements, including current (expertise/ skills) gaps and potential future gaps to support our business objectives by implementing e.g. inter-regional secondments of highly experienced staff;

• You expand and further develop our remote working capability for our client deliverables team;

• You significantly grow the overall head count in operational roles as set down in 2024 and 2025 targets.

Your track record

• You have a BSc degree in a relevant discipline and a minimum of 8 years working experience in a role related to e.g. marine, operations;

• You have previous management experience and know how drive organisation and cultural change to facilitate development;

• You are able to work well alongside peers, colleagues and partners to impact positively on business performance;

• You have a strong business-acumen, are client-oriented and actively focus on achieving sustainable results with a passion for success;

• You have an innovative approach and always strive for operational excellence in all goals;

• You have the ability to lead teams and build relationships at all levels (both within and beyond Fugro); and excellent language skills in English (both oral and written).
