About The Job
As the Marine Capital Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving the sales of Alfa Laval’s marine products, systems, and solutions in the new shipbuilding market across Indonesia. You will focus on developing and maintaining strong relationships with shipyards, shipowners, and other key stakeholders, ensuring Alfa Laval’s leadership in the marine industry.
This role is an individual contributor role and does not have team reporting to the role.
Job Description
Sales & Business Development:
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to drive growth and achieve sales targets in the new shipbuilding market.
- Promote Alfa Laval’s marine capital equipment, including energy-efficient systems, environmental solutions, and critical onboard machinery.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities with shipyards, naval architects, ship designers, and shipowners.
Market Analysis & Strategy:
- Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to position Alfa Laval as a preferred supplier.
- Analyze Indonesia’s shipbuilding market and identify growth opportunities.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders in the marine industry.
- Act as a trusted advisor, providing technical and commercial expertise to clients.
Collaboration & Coordination:
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., engineering, project management, and aftersales) to deliver tailored solutions and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate with global Alfa Laval teams to align on regional and corporate strategies.
Technical & Product Expertise:
- Maintain a deep understanding of Alfa Laval’s marine product portfolio and their applications.
- Conduct product presentations and technical discussions to address customer requirements.
Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure all activities comply with corporate policies and local regulations.
- Prepare accurate sales forecasts and regular performance reports.
What You Know
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years in capital equipment sales, preferably within the marine or shipbuilding industry.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets in a competitive market.
- Familiarity with the Indonesian shipbuilding market and key stakeholders is a strong advantage.
- Skills:
- Strong sales and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Technical understanding of marine systems and equipment.
- Strategic thinking and analytical skills.
- Languages: Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia is required.
- Other Requirements: Willingness to travel frequently within Indonesia and occasionally internationally.
