ESSENTIAL PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:

This position will design, document and improve manufacturing processes and improve process capability to assure product quality.  It will utilize engineering, technical, problem solving and project management skills for the purpose of improved process capability, throughput, and utilization of equipment, improved uptime and OEE, cost and scrap reduction and reduction of GRR’s.


This position is well-suited for recent engineering graduates or early-career engineers looking to build hands-on manufacturing and process improvement experience in a fast-paced production environment. We welcome candidates with internship, co-op, or relevant manufacturing experience who are eager to grow their engineering and continuous improvement skills.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs engineering assignments that involves equipment improvements and installations, product and/or process improvements, assists with and incorporates design improvements into the process, involved with the testing of materials and implementations of new materials into the process.
  • Conducts the preparation of specifications as appropriate and required, process studies and or research investigations involving existing and new products and processes.
  • Primary focus of this position will be on existing products or processes
  • Analyze, participate in the development of and recommend new or improved equipment, process modifications and procedures to improve overall machine and operator efficiency, quality and reduce costs.
  • Conducts process capability studies and uses statistical tools to measure process performance and validate improvement results.
  • Analyze process for possible improvements and make recommendations for improvement projects to the appropriate plant leadership.

 

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Position requires demonstrated innovation and ability to manage projects from cradle to grave encompassing all facets of scope development, design, quoting, vendor management, schedule management, installation, commission and post commissioning support.
  • Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project
  • Project Management Knowledge

SKILLS AND ABILITIES PREFERRED:

  • Solidworks 3D software knowledge
  • AutoCAD 2D software knowledge
  • Six Sigma/Green Belt or Black Belt with practical experience
  • Ansys or similar computer aided engineering software knowledge

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires 0 to 3 years experience in manufacturing engineering, process improvement, directing or coordinating manufacturing projects and continuous improvement.    
  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering/Technology.  Other degrees will be considered if accompanied by appropriate experience.
