Role Overview:
Seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to support our Lean Transformation Maturity initiatives.
This role will focus on substantiating portable airflow stand to replacing the old machine and robotic grit blast machine to elevate the operator skills, improving the process with new technology to support production and enhance operational efficiency.
The intern will work closely with cross-functional teams to bring these processes into the production line, reducing motion, transportation, waiting time, and cycle time.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in lean manufacturing principles and contribute to impactful projects that drive operational excellence.
The intern will be part of implementing Solumina as the new MES system in the shop.
Ideal Candidate
A proactive and analytical individual with a passion for lean manufacturing and process improvement. Eager to learn, possess strong problem-solving skills, and thrive in a collaborative environment.
Interns must be able to commit to a 20-24 week internship at minimum to ensure they have sufficient time and opportunity to learn from their internship projects
Required Qualifications
Pursuing a degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
Basic understanding of lean manufacturing principles and tools.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, interpret, and present data.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with lean tools such as value stream mapping, kaizen, or standard work.
Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies.
Previous internship or project experience in a manufacturing or operations environment.
